The 2001 Grammy's

That is one hella big picture.

"Who the f--- is Steely Dan?"--Eminem [From my Rolling Stone Daily newsletter. I agree.]

I don't know what it was, but I actually somewhat enjoyed this year's show. With the exception of Steely Dan becoming this year's Santana, it was good. Anyway, I'm just gonna review the highlights... Cause I know you don't care about the other parts. [I don't either.]

Jon Stewart: He was much better than previous hosts have been. I thought he did a good job, but the Eminem jokes got old fast. I mean, I know that they'd be made... But it was just stupid after a while. The best thing he said all night was this: "But not all rap is bad. In Mystikal's song 'Shake Ya Ass' he says 'Shake Ya Ass' but then offers the warning of 'But Watch Yourself.'" That was so funny. I was laughing for the longest time about that one. Good stuff. All in all, he did a good job.

NSYNC: First things first: Justin cut his hair! And I'm still not used to it. Uh huh. The performance was okay, I'm so sick of the song though -- the pop station here played it at least once an hour -- so hearing it again didn't really help. I'm not gonna go deep into the outfits, but I have to say this: Do they get dressed in the dark? Apparently so. I wasn't mad that they didn't get any awards, but my biasm [is that a word? It is now.] didn't really care one way or the other. I'm mean I know.

Christina Aguilera: What is she thinking? Did you see her outfit? What a little ho. My mom even said "She's going down fast." I agree. That hair... Ugh. Looks bad. It was all ratty and stuff, can't she just go back to her normal hair for once? I guess not. Now about her performance, I don't know what she's thinking. She must think the entire world is fluent is Spanish and can understand her. I'm in Spanish 2 and couldn't pick out a word she was saying. [Except for "No me digas" which she repeated over and over... I guess that's what the song's called.) I did like the bubble thing though, but that was it. Her outfit was like a giant doily. Christina... Enough.

Eminem and Elton John... Who woulda thought.

Eminem: I personally think he's the only reason I enjoyed the show. I was so happy [and I emphasize the so] that he got three awards. He didn't get Album Of The Year which sucked. I've never even heard of Steely Dan anyway. Everyone's heard of Eminem, and that really was the best album this year. Seriously. His new look though.. Bbabe, you look just like Justin. It's not good. He looks hot like that though, but still. The bandanna and sunglasses was too much. As long as he doesn't start wearing rhinestones on his bandannas I'm good. The performance was so awesome. The set with the bed turning into a desk was such a cool effect. And do you see how much he gets into the song? One minute he's screaming to "Shut up bitch!" and the next he's "Dear Stan" in a calm voice. That's one of the things I love about him. And he looked adorable [LMAO. Most people don't use that word to describe him] in his blue suit. I love the little running suits. The guy bleeping stuff out kept bleeping out random words like "oh" and then he'd let him say "shit." He was a little early. It was funny though. And I'm really glad that he went through with the performance because it showed so much. And he got a standing ovation. They deserved it. Elton John's outfit is a whole different story...

Dear Stan, I wrote you but you still ain't callin'
