The Positive Generational Constant
- Toward A World Summit on Societal Sustainability -

To be meaningful, assessing the human generational continuum (humanity itself recognized as a component part of nature-life-infinity) requires for completeness the observer's further recognition of the significance of human empathy and compassion in the advancement of human enlightenment.

The implicate role of empathy and compassion in the human generational continuum (bearing particularly on human mate selection, on the nurturing of offspring, and on early childhood education) operates as a constant with positive consequences for the whole of human endeavor.  Analogous to water seeking its own level, the Positive Generational Constant (Human Empathy & Compassion) has given rise, meaning and purpose to societal sustainability.

As humanity commits itself in the
post-Darwin era to relating with biocentric compassion to all forms of life, to the environment, and to the continuum of life itself - accelerated by the advent of societal sustainability and the oneness of life perspective (cosmic genealogy) -  Golden Rule centrality embracing education and science - as well as religion -  will find expression in basics fundamental to The Compassionate Global Society: (a) a healthful, sustainable environment for every planetary citizen, (b) universal health care, publicly supported, (c) education for all based upon individual capability, (d) creative/productive employment for every citizen, (e) financial security upon completion of work career.

In this pivotal step for humankind the Golden Rule demonstrates well its unique validity as a global ethic/planetary standard.  "The Golden Rule is a natural consequence of the recognition of the unity of being" (Esme Wynne-Tyson,
The Philosophy of Compassion, 1970).  Golden Rule Stewardship (of generations - by generations - for generations) -  driven by the Positive Generational Constant (Human Empathy and Compassion) - ensures the integrity of the human generational continuum in consonance with all life on Earth.

A world summit on societal sustainability (culminating in global commitment to the achievement of environmental/social expectations)  focuses attention equally on water-related challenges in the twenty-first century (freshwater quality/availability), emphasizing
global water equilibrium as an attainable goal.

"A man (he/she) can do what he (she) wants, but not want what he (she) wants."

- Arthur Schopenhauer
