Boycott EXCESSIVE MOTORSPORTS

Excessive Motorsports has lost many customers due to their poor customer service,
and its all due the actions of one man,
MITCH BLACK.
They recently commited an act so egregious, a swift response was needed,

This is mine!

As far as what started this whole deal, the original post unedited from Mike Pompe to Rec.autos..makers.ford.mustang follows (with the author's permission):

Thought I would pass along an interesting experience I had today. I know that Excessive Motorsports has been a hot topic here before with every newbie coming here asking about whether their huge 4 page ads in MM&FF are really good enough to be true. I have occasionally joined these threads because I have had my fair share of dealings with them throughout the years. I live about 65 miles from their showroom, and have spent in excess of $4000.000 there over the years.

A few examples:

* One of the first sets of Twisted Wedge heads sold there.
* '93 Cobra Intake
* A-Trim Vortech Kit
* Pro-M MAF
* B-303 Cam
* Off Road pipe
* Mega Bite Jr. Control arms
* Gauges, gauge pod
* More misc stuff than I can EVEN count.

Ad this to all the business I have sent their way in the way of friends and such and the total becomes pretty high.

Well, today I decided to build a home built cold air kit for the GTP and needed a conical K&N to finish it with. Living in the sticks means that you either have to mail order one, or make the drive to KC. I figured, it's nice today, I'm off work, and the GTP needs to take me somewhere away from here, so I hit the road. Also, i did call them ahead of time to make sure they had both the 7" and 9" in stock before I came all the way up there. The mail order monkey assured me that they did indeed have both on hand. No problem thus far.

Well after settling for the 7" version because they in fact did NOT have both on hand, I started to write my check and take home my new found horse power possibility. After being left at the counter for almost 30 minutes while the sales monkey went in the back, the head Ford sales Tech comes out and proceeds to finish the sale. Ok, no problem. Well I soon found out why I was left there for 30 minutes. I was informed that they would refuse to sell to me because I had posted negative information about them on the Internet!!! The Tech acted as if he was sorry and wanted to sell me the filter, but his boss MITCH BLACK said he was to cancel the sale. I was stunned, but I took my check back and walked out, being very nice about the entire thing. They lost the sale, not me..why should I be pissed...They just proved >y point!! I just sent Summit Racing my CC order. THEY seem to appreciate my business.

Well after over 4K in sales to me, they have decided that my money is not good enough because I spoke my mind about the way they treat customers. Just goes to show you what kind of business they run there. I guess I have been hypocritical over the years because I knew they were not customer oriented, but I spent money there anyway. I guess I was paying for the convenience of walking into the store and physically looking at the item before buying. Obviously they will not be getting any more of Mike's money. It's there loss as I said before.

Thought everyone here may be interested in this little tidbit from my day :-) Buyer beware folks, buyer beware.
