Where are the FORCE Schools?

There are FORCE schools now in Shaanxi and Yunnan Provinces.

Shaanxi Province is located about 1000 km west of Beijing, just south of Inner Mongolia. The provincial capital is Xi'an, famous for its terra cotta soldiers found in the funerary complex of First Emperor Qin of 2nd century BCE.

Yunnan Province, in the southwest, borders Tibet, Burma, Laos, and Vietnam, and is home to dozens of non-Han, minority peoples.

Five FORCE schools are located in the northern part of Shaanxi, in Ansai County, a loess region near the city of Yenan, about a day's train ride north of Xi'an.

As of 2005, eleven schools have been built in Yunnan province. The latest is Cucumber Village, which you can read about in our 2006 New Year's Newsletter.
