Week 6
June 21 - June 27
Well, this week sure has been a bad one (with a few good things here and there).  Where do I start?  Ah, let's start with the huge breakout that started last week and continued to unfold all throughout this week.  I am very disappointed with the way my face has been acting this week.  The breakout started out small last week on my right cheek and progressed to my forehead and my other cheek.  However, as of now, the breakout is clearing up little by little, but is still leaving big ol' red marks all over my face (just more to add the the growing thousands).

On a lighter and happier note, my back is almost completely clear, which I thought would never happen.  It is amazing to see how much progress can happen in one area over the span of a week.  Let's just hope that next week brings better results with my face.  My chest is still clear and I'm hoping that it all stays that way.

As for side effects, I have a lot to mention on those and a couple of new treatment ideas for you.  I, unfortunately, had two bloody noses this week.  Luckily, they were not bad and went away quickly.  I just hate having the inconvenience of blood spewing from my nose at random moments.  It's just really annoying.  My back pain continues, but like I said, it's only at night when I lay down and only for about a minute.  I think it is getting a little better though.  My face is still really dry and it appears that the Cetaphil really isn't doing that good a job of keeping it moisturized, but I'm going to keep using it, because that's what my doctor recommended, so I think she knows best.

As for my arms and hands, I have a couple of really awesome products that I would like to tell you about.  Last Sunday, I just couldn't take my ashy arms anymore.  It had gotten to the point where scabs were starting to form all over my arm from out of nowhere.  So, I told my mom about it and she gave me a couple things to try.

          -
Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream - I used this for two nights along with the next two products.

          -
Avon Hydrofirming Night Cream - I put this on my arms on top of the Mary Kay stuff for two nights and then by itself for the rest of the week.

          -
Avon Hydrofirming Day Cream - I used this every morning after my shower.  And hey, it's SPF 15, so that's good too, because you know how bad sun is for your skin while on Accutane.

The results of those were great.  After the first two day, all of the scabs and dryness were completely gone.  I still use it though, cause I don't need the ashy skin to return.  As for the cost of those products, I really can't say much about that, because my mom bought it all.  I did check the avon website, and the Day and Night Cream was on sale for about $7.  So, it's not horribly expensive.

That's basically all of the new news for the week.  I'm really hoping that by next week, my face will be cleared from this nasty breakout.  Until then, have a great week.  If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to
contact me.  I'd love to hear from you.
