Field Service Engineer aboard USNS RANGE SENTINEL. Naval Operational Test Support Unit 2 (OSTU-2)
  • Operated and maintained acoustic systems (SONAR) used for underwater navigation, communication and submarine tracking.
  • Operated and maintained secure (ComSec) and unsecure communications systems including satellite communications systems.
  • Wrote manuals and sections of manuals for SONAR, SATCOM and Security of systems aboard ship.

Senior Field Service Engineer, Description of Responsibilities
  • Supervised the operation and maintenance of Test Instrumentation and Telemetry systems aboard Polaris, Poseidon and Trident ships. The Instrumentation systems tested the offensive and defensive weapon systems and the operating systems of the submarine.
  • Supervised the operation and maintenance of Portable Data Processing Stations used to provide readable quick-look data to Vitro Laboratory data analysis personnel.
