How the Group Operates: We meet twice a month usually on Saturday from 10:30-12:30 p.m. at a local branch of the Queens Public Library for the purpose of perfecting our craft by critiquing each other's work.
Each poet brings 10-15 copies of the poem he wants to discuss.
Reading: We give free public readings of our original work throughout Queens in places like schools, libraries, The Queens Botanic Garden, The Queens Museum, Queens College, senior centers, community centers, and neighborhood Y's, hospitals, prisons, literary centers, bookstores and other public places.
Annual Anthology: Each year we produce an anthology of samples of the work of our members. We also publish books, pamphlets and broad sheets.
Poetry Contest: Each year we run a poetry contest which is open to the public. There is a minimal entrance fee to defray our expenses for the contest, and to enable us to award cash prizes* to the winners.
