7. Conclusion


Hardware and software deployments have never been an easy task. I never told you about that place where I used to work where we were performing OS/2 upgrades by launching a command file from the network (this actually worked great, but it was time consuming because the whole system was overwritten, system and apps, no matter where the updates were applying to). To avoid frustration on users and on IT workers, anything that can ease up the process is a welcome thing. As far as OS installation goes, InstallRite can't really help you (unless someone designs a way to do it, let me know), but to install any other kind of software, patch or configuration, this is the best tool I've worked with over the years. And it is largely because this tool was build with simplicity in mind. Nothing beats that. Now, if only we could get rid of politics...
