DHC-6-300 Frontier Airlines - Click here to start download. A DHC6-200 Twin Otter (N983FL) of the original Denver based Frontier Airlines.  Frontier began using the 19-passenger Twin Otter in 1971 initially for service on the Northern Plains routes in northern Montana and North Dakota.  The type eventually saw use in other areas of their system.


This aircraft represents N382PH, operated by Horizon Air, as it appeared in the late 1980s.  Horizon Air began service in September 1981 from Seattle, Washington.  They purchased Air Oregon in June 1982, adding the Metro to their fleet.   By the end of 1992, Horizon's fleet of Metro IIIs had grown to 32. Airlink Fokker F.27 - Click here to start download. This aircraft represents N267MA, a Fokker F.27-200 operated by Mesaba Aviation, as it appeared in mid/late 1980s.  Mesaba became the first AirLink partner in 1984.  The F.27 was the first major civil aircraft designed and built by Fokker after WW II.

Delta Air Lines operates 14 Boeing 727-232(A)s as part of their Delta Shuttle service for travelers in the northeastern US.  This one is finished in the original Delta Air Lines markings in use when the service began in the early 1990s.  For an example of this same aircraft in the new Delta Air Lines markings introduced in 1998 download DL72SHTL.ZIP. Republic 727-2M7 - Click here to start download. Boeing 727-2M7(A) in the transition markings it initially carried after the Republic Airlines / Hughes AirWest merger in October 1980.  Many details of the Hughes AirWest "banana" scheme were retained.  The aircraft is still in service with Northwest and retains its RW registration number from the original operator.

This is a two aircraft set representing the Boeing 737-232 in Delta's "new" livery.  The aircraft on the left wears standard fleet markings.  The aircraft on the right is finished in Delta Express markings.  The Delta Express program has been expanded to 26 aircraft with service from 19 cities.  An original livery example is below.


The DC-10 is a long-range airliner, designed as a competitor to the Boeing 747.  It first flew in 1970.  Western Airlines operated 13 DC-10-10 'Spaceships' on it's transcontinental and intercontinental routes from April 1973 up to the acquisition by Delta in May 1987.  This aircraft will represent N907WA as it appeared in Ft. This is a two aircraft set representing the Boeing 727-100 and -200 series as they appeared in Frontier Airlines "Arrow-Jet" livery from the 1960s through 1970s.  Both aircraft are painted as factory fresh with the registration number of the first delivered aircraft of each type: 727-191 (N7270F) and 727-291 (N7276F).  Frontier had sold all examples of both types by early 1972 in favor of an all 737 fleet.

This Boeing 727-232(A), N214DL, represents one of 14 operated by Delta Air Lines as part of their Delta Shuttle service for travelers in the northeastern US.  It is finished in the new Delta Air Lines markings introduced in Atlanta in April, 1987.

Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) flew 737s from 1968 until replacing them with the larger capacity Boeing 727s in 1976.  Some, like N380PS depicted here, were sold to Frontier or AirCal, building their 737 fleets. This aircraft represents a Boeing 737-247 in the "swizzle-stick" livery of the now defunct Western Air Lines.  Back in the late 1970s - early 1980s you could fly from Denver to Salt Lake City for about $35.  And that included champagne with your breakfast.  Ahh...

Another Western Air Lines 737-247 - Click here to start download. A Boeing 737-247 in the initial "swizzle-stick" livery of Western Air Lines in the mid 1970s.  This initial scheme differs from the one above in the rear fuselage area and was a transition from the earlier Indian head livery.

A Frontier Air Lines Boeing 737 "Arrow-Jet" in the original aqua/gold markings for the type.  This aircraft is painted as one of the first Boeing 737s to fly with Frontier, N7371F.  The first of the Boeing 737s joined Frontier's Denver based fleet in the summer of 1969.

A USAF T-43A (B737-200) Navigation Trainer.  This aircraft is finished in the original grey and white service markings of the 1970s and early 1980s.  The first T-43A was delivered to the Air Force at Mather Air Force Base, Calif., in September 1973.
