MoparFest 2006 New Hamburg, Ontario
This was our first time at MoparFest 2006. It is like the Canadian version of the Mopar Nationals. We spent the weekend there with our good friends Gord and Joan from Newmarket, Ontario. The car parking on the field leaves a lot to be desired. They pack you in cheek-to-jowl on the show field. This leaves no room for tents, chairs, coolers, people...etc. Also, this is NOT a judged event. No trophies given here. It's about having fun with fellow Mopar owners. But the weather did everything in its power to dampen the fun. Saturday was pure ~wet~. High humidity led to rain showers at 10am that soaked the cars, owners, and show field for the entire day. Sunday arrived with more rain drizzle that gave way to high winds and cold temps. The sun finally made an appearance at the time we were leaving the field!! Naturally!! While we were there, we got to meet up with a couple other Mopar A-body owners. John Gibb owns a 1969 GTS 340 that is also B5 Bright Blue with a white stripe like ours, but has a white interior and top instead. The other A-body owner was old friend Brian Jones and his yellow 1969 340 Swinger. We took some photos to record the event.
