What is Clogging?

Clogging is a popular percussive dance that is similar to tap and Irish step dancing. While traditional clogging is done to bluegrass and country music, contemporary precision clogging can be done to any type of upbeat music, including country, pop, rap, and even Broadway show tunes. It's easy to learn, a great way to exercise and fellowship, and is fun for all ages!

For more information about clogging, read the article, "What is Clogging?"

Beginner Classes

The next beginner clogging class will be offered:

to be notified when our next class begins!

Beginners will learn the fundamental steps and routines of clogging. Introductory sessions are usually held in three-week sessions (45 minutes per week) periodically throughout the year. No partner or experience are necessary. Proper clogging shoes are helpful, but not required at this beginner level - please wear flat, smooth-soled shoes (no high heels!) and come prepared to have a fun time dancing!

Visit us! Spectators are welcome to watch any open class to see just how much fun clogging is!

Intermediate and Advanced Classes

Intermediate and advanced classes are available for those who have previous clogging experience. Cloggers will learn modern and traditional clogging routines and have the opportunity to participate in public performances with the 1st Klass Kloggers.

The classes are taught by Kelli McChesney, an internationally-recognized clogging instructor known for her exceptional teaching skills. Kelli has been clogging for over 21 years and has over 16 years teaching experience.
