Finex House is a battered women's shelter for battered women and their children who have disabilities. We are wheelchair accessible with two concrete ramps and an internal lift. Finex House also has a light coded signal system for deaf battered women and their children. Finex House is an equal opportunity service provider and therefore, people of color and those who have disabilities as well as others are strongly encouraged to call for services. Three formerly abused women incorporated Finex House in 1983. Our motto is; "I Belong to No One." Our mission is to provide shelter and services for all battered women and consequently we have provided outreach to those who have dropped through the cracks of existing service providers. Accordingly, Finex House provides emergency shelter and a comprehensive array of services for the most vulnerable of battered women, particularly for those who have disabilities. A few of the services provided by Finex House are as follows: *Wheelchair Accessibility *Emergency Safe Shelter with 32 beds *24 hr Hotline 617-288-1054 *Attorneys to go with battered women to court *Housing Advocacy *Crisis Intervention *Emergency Response Services *Special Needs Advice *Child Advocacy and Support Programs (CASP) *9 housing vouchers for those families we shelter *Shelter Plus After Care Programs (S+P) *Sign Language, Spanish, Cambodian and Haitian Creole *Outreach and services for the Deaf *Self Esteem Groups *Three different types of Parenting Groups *Two types of mental health therapy *Help with moving *Trauma Support and Counseling *Day Care *Substance Abuse Counseling *Rehabilitative Therapy *Elder services *AA groups *and much more In addition, Finex House has developed     "Escape-A Handbook for Battered Women Who Have Disabilities" For more information contact: Finex House PO Box 1154 Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 617-436-2002 fax 617-287-0553
