FAIR LOTHLÓRIEN filemonger 6-14-2000 Oh, I wish I could have been To fair Lothlórien: Where the mallorn leaves turn gold As the Elven-queen grows old. As I wander Western states, Aspen-trees in silver-plate Remind me of mallorn trees -- Living riches in the breeze -- And I wish I could have been To strong Lothlórien: Where Frodo's Ring bears no fear, And the trees grow riches dear. Greenest grass on mountainside, Forests thick where deer abide, Bright sunset on deep, still lake: But for these, my heart would break As I wish I could have been To old Lothlórien: Beauty ageless doth live there -- 'Tis Galadriel the fair. Oh, I wish I could have been To fair Lothlórien: The lost land of Tolkien's dream Where keen Elven eyes yet gleam.
