A bio of The Fiddler...

My real name is Chris; I have many psuedonyms, but doesn't everyone? For statistical people, I am 6'2" tall, weighing 180 pounds. My hair is a sandy shade and I've got blue eyes...very blue eyes. ;-) I was born in Alexandria, VA and I have lived in VA for all my life (well, not all of it - I ain't dead yet!). I am formerly of Winchester, Alexandria, Chantilly, Woodbridge, and a bunch of other places, but I currently live with my roommates and my 3 cats in Fairfax, VA. I am 26 years old currently (late 20s - ugh!), and I am a music teacher at Parkside Middle School in Manasses, VA and at the American Children of SCORE in The Plains, VA. I play classical violin, bluegrass fiddle, and viola. Currently, I play the Nothin' Fancy Bluegrass Band, and I formerly played with the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra as the assistant principal violist. I also play piano, guitar, mandolin, bass, a little bit of 'cello, and I compose and sing. I have been making guest appearances with Agents of Good Roots which sadly broke up on 12/31/01. Their guitarist, Andrew Winn, has been collaborating with me in some live performances for the past two years and hopefully we can get together and do a recording. For a more complete list of what I do, read my resume.

I can't remember when I didn't play music. I started at an early age and it's what earns my bread for now. Yes, I am a starving artist! I've been playing for 18 years, and I guess you'd have to meet me to know what a fiery impression it's made on my life to be a musician. If you happen to be a musician, you know what I'm talking about!

I got my degree from Shenandoah University in music performance. Seeing as I'm a teacher now, I should have pursued a music education degree - oh, well. It is at Shenandoah where I joined Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a male music fraternity that was started in 1898. It is hard to explain about for me at least - check the Music Links page through the directory at the bottom to find the link to Phi Mu Alpha's homepage if you'd like to know more. It's a really reputable organizations for male musicians interested in the performance, education, and research of music in America.

Thank you for visiting the bio page. I especially appreciate that you've been able to read this far without going into a coma, since my life's not that interesting! Hopefully you'll visit again, though. Thanks again for dropping by.

You are visitor to this page since July 17, 2000.
