"Laissez les bon temps roulez!" ("Let the good times roll!") New Orleans, Louisiana, Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29, 2003, is the time to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones while listening to jazz, partying on Bourbon Street, eating some of the best food in the world, drinking a Hurricane and strolling through the French Quarter. This city is magical and offers something for everyone. Start planning now so you don’t miss all the fun! Thinking of coming earlier in the week? No problem! Special hotel rates start on Tuesday the 24th. Watch for other early bird FHSers.

Headquarters for the business meeting will be the Royal Sonesta Hotel, a five-star hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter right on Bourbon Street. Not only will you be able to enjoy the hottest spot in New Orleans just by stepping outside the hotel; you’ll also be able to enjoy the view of Bourbon Street from our hospitality suite balcony. We have negotiated a rate of $99 per night, per room, from June 24 – 28, 2003 (13% tax, plus $2.00 per room per night occupancy tax = $113.87 per night). Adding a third person or more to a room costs an additional $20 per night per person. Check-in is at 3:00 PM and Check-out is 12:00 noon. The block of rooms will be held until May 25, 2003. After that time it will be at the hotel's discretion to honor this rate, so make reservations early. Remember, you can always cancel 72 hours prior to arrival with no penalty. Please call 504-586-0300 or 800-SONESTA to make your reservations now. Be sure to mention the Frankfurt American High School Reunion in order to secure the negotiated rate. Parking is available for $15 per day, but it is strongly suggested that you take the airport shuttlefor $20 per person round trip. New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport is served by the major and discount airlines. So there is no excuse not to get here. And to make it even easier this site lists the daily fare sales from all the top cities.

Planned activities include gatherings in our hospitality suite, complete with balcony overlooking famous Bourbon Street, reception at Bubba Gumps Shrimp House on Friday night, business meeting on Saturday morning, and Saturday night Mardi Gras banquet and dancing. New Orleans has a lot to offer in the way of site seeing (Haunted History Tours, Cemetery Tours, Aquarium of the Americans, Steamboat trip, D-Day museum, Mardi Gras World), shopping (antiques, galleries, Riverwalk Marketplace), and, of course, eating, bars and music (Arnaud’s, Brennan’s, Acme Oyster bar, Café du Monde, Pat O’Brien’s, Preservation Hall). The year 2003 also marks the Louisiana Purchase Bicentennial, a year-long celebration of activities and events. For more information, download and print the PDF invitation linked at the top of this page.

Registration for FHS 2003 New Orleans is just $25 per person and the dinner/dance is $45 per person. Alumni attending must be current with dues to FAHSAA, Inc. Dues are $30 per year, or $250 for ten years.
