LEAGUE INTRO |
The FFBL is a 10 team "keeper" fantasy baseball league. Each season you have the option of how much of your team you retain. You can save as few as 6 players and as many as 10. In the unfortunate event that we have a new owner, they will be REQUIRED to save 10 players in their inaugural season. (Rare exceptions will be voted on by the league.) |

PRE-SEASON TRADING |
As soon as your $40 down payment is in, you are eligible to make pre-season trades. Trades may consist of players or draft picks of round 11 or above. All trades cost $1 per team per player or pick traded. Once again all trades must be an even swap. Ex: Randy Johnson and Picks 11 and 14 for Garret Anderson, Derek Lowe and Pick 17 This is an even 3 for 3 trade and costs both teams $3. Pre-season trades do not count against the limit of 8. PLAYERS INVOLVED IN A PRESEASON TRADE MUST BE SAVED. |
SAVING PLAYERS |
Saturday, March 13th 2004 saved players are due by 8:00pm. It can be as few as 6 or as many as 10 players. A list of saved players will be published Sunday, March 14th by 8:00pm. Those players are ineligible for the 2004 draft. If a saved player is placed on the MLB IR or 60-day DL between March 13th at 8:01pm and the draft, you have two options. 1) save him anyways 2) save someone else from your 2003 roster. The draft starts in round 7 with any franchises that have saved 6 players. Round 8 will consist of franchises that saved 7 or less players. We will continue in that manner through round 10. At that point all franchises will have 10 players. Cards will be dealt by commissioners Wednesday, March 17th at 8:01pm to determine the order of rounds 7-12. The order for early picks will be attached to the list of saved players. |
DRAFT DAY |
Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 12:00 noon @ 101 El Rancho Dr. |
ORDER OF DRAFT |
At the beginning of each odd numbered round, starting with round 13, we will deal out playing cards numbered 1 through 10. That will be the order of the odd round. The even round will be that order in reverse. You may trade picks at any time in an ODD numbered round. Before every odd round we will re-shuffle and re-deal. |
ROSTERS |
Each roster will consist of 26 players. It is recommended that you draft: 2-1B, 2-2B, 2-SS, 2-3B, 2-C, 5-7 OF, 7-9 SP AND 2-RP Again that's only a recommendation, not a rule. |
STARTING LINEUPS |
Each week you will be starting: 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-SS, 1-3B, 1-C, 3-OF, 1-DH(any hitting position), 3-SP, 1-RP In order to receive points from a player, they must play at the position they were started at, at least once during that week. If they do not 0 points will be awarded. Lineups must be updated on our site EVERY Monday morning, no later than 11:59am. I can put lineup changes through for you if you can't get to a computer, but again, no later than 11:59am |
STANDINGS |
Each week(Mon-Sun), the top 5 scoring teams will receive a victory. First place will be determined by record first, total points second. The leader after the 20 week season will be crowned the FFBL Champion. The 2004 season will begin on Monday, April 5th and end on Sunday, August 29th (excluding All-Star week). (We end early due to the fantasy football season and September call-ups effecting playing time.) |
SCORING SYSTEM |
Pitching Points: 10 points - any win by a starting pitcher 5 points - any win or save by a relief pitcher 1 point - every inning pitched (1/3 of an inning is .33 and 2/3 of an inning is .67) -1 point - every earned run allowed Hitting Points: 1 point - any hit 1 point - any run scored 1 point - any run batted in |
PENALTIES |
1) Hard Luck Rule: You must pay the pot $5 if you score under 120 points in a week. 2) Slumpbuster Rule: You must pay the pot $10 if you score under 110 points in a week. 3) Rally Monkey Rule: You must pay the pot $20 if you score under 100 points in a week. 4) Deadbeat Owner Rule: A negative balance at 11:59pm Sunday night will cost you $10 and an automatic loss the following week. It's not as bad as it looks it just prevents owners from giving up! |
TRADES & TRANSACTIONS |
Trades: Each team is limited to 8 trades. Trades may be made at any time during the season, up until the deadline. The deadline is Aug 6th @ 11:59pm, the day after the MLB trading deadline. Any trade deemed questionable by the 3 co-commissioners will be put up for vote. 5 out of 8 uninvolved owners must vote no in order to overturn trade. Transactions(pick-ups): Each team is entitled to unlimited transactions. Transactions can be made at any time, up until the aforementioned deadline.
