KING OF HEARTS
by Geoff Lake
Any one who knows me will tell you that I am an old Slade fan who can rabbit on for hours about the subject, however a recent Slade purchase helped me spot another Prisoner reference. Slade front man Noddy Holder recently published his autobiography, 'Who's Crazee Now'. An excellent read it is too. However, when I purchased the book I noticed that the shop (W.H.Smith) has an offer on that was/is two hardback books for £20. So I noticed that this included Stephen King's new novel 'Hearts in Atlantis'. This was my chosen 2nd book. I have read some King novels and recently started this one. I noticed after the dedication, the following appeared:

Number 6: What do you want?
Number 2: Information
Number 6: Whose side are you on?
Number 2: That would be telling. We want information.
Number 6: You won't get it
Number 2: By hook or by crook we will

....... The Prisoner

The book's jacket describes the novel as thus: 'Hearts in Atlantis' is composed of five interconnected, sequential narratives set in the years 1960 to 1999. Each story is deeply rooted in the sixties, and each is haunted by the Vietnam war.

I have started reading the book and at the time of writing the Prisoner has only been briefly mentioned (on page 277). We will keep you posted if it is mentioned again.
