This site, was originally going to be about Cardiff ghosts, but after doing some research I found that there aren`t too many reported.

So, after digging about in the library I decided that this site would be not only about ghosts but also about some of the long forgotten interesting facts of Cardiff.

The ghost stories on here have come from articles found in local newspapers and the facts are from a book called  Cardiff Mysteries by Chris Butler the ISBN number of which is 0-9528122-0-7

The reason that I have added  the name and ISBN number of the book is because there are a number of stories in this book, I`ve just picked the few I preferred, and it  really is a cracking read if you want to learn more about this wonderful city.  If you have read this book, you will see that I have changed the wording quite a bit, this is to bring it up to date and to make some of it a little more understandable for the younger viewers of this site.

When I first thought of this type of site, my second thought was"argh, research", but I have found that I have enjoyed looking into the dark crevices of my hometown and urge those of you "thinking" about it to jump on in.  Its amazing what you can find.

I`ve been interested in motorbikes and the  supernatural for years , unfortunately being disabled means that I have to sit back  and watch others enjoying these machines, whereas my interest in the supernatural has blossomed since the acquisition of my "new" toy, the computer.

I am a member of a registered charity motorcycle club named SoD`em who just happen to have on their premises a friendly ghost of their own, from what I`ve learnt his name was Jimmy and he worked in the brick works that were originally there., though that as they say, is another story

Back to findings,  I was quite disappointed tp find that there aren`t as many ghost stories reported in Cardiff as I would have liked.
This is why I originally decided to find out more about Cardiff of old and to basically just to fill the site out.

There are a couple of things that I wasn`t able to find out more about.  So if any of you know more please don`t hesitate to email me.  The first one being:

I`m not sure how long ago this happened, but Boots the Chemist on Queen Street in the main city center was having some work done, from what I remember, the people doing the work came across an old burial site, if I remember rightly it was a plague graveyard.  People working at Boots and the workmen supposedly saw the ghosts of these plague victims.

Thats all I can remember,  I think it was approx 15 years ago, and was reported in the South Wales Echo, though I found no mention of it in any of the articles I found in the main library.

The second is, approx thirteen years ago, walking down Wyndham Arcade on Mill Lane I spotted a brass plaque inlaid  in the floor, either commemorating the last woman hung or the last witch burned at the stake in Cardiff.

Again, if anyone knows anymore about either of these please email me.

For now there are a lot more facts about Cardiff than there are ghosts.  I haven`t stopped looking, in fact there are two more ghosts that I have heard about, though at the moment they seem to be just rumour.  I`ll keep digging and with a bit of luck I`ll have the stories for you soon.
