TUCSON'S PASCUA YAQUI TRIBE AND CASINO DEL SOL, ALONG WITH MAIN EVENTS AND MILLER LITE BREWING COMPANY, ANNOUNCE RESCHEDULED "FEROCIOUS" FERNANDO VARGAS VS. TONY MARSHALL BOUT FOR DECEMBER 12 AT CASINO DEL SOL

TUCSON, Ariz. - October 2, 2003 - Casino Del Sol, Arizona's premier entertainment destination and an economic enterprise of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, along with Main Events and Miller Lite Brewing Company announced today that the bout between The Aztec Warrior "Ferocious" Fernando Vargas and Georgetown Guyana's Tony Marshall has been rescheduled for December 12 at the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's Casino Del Sol. The greatly anticipated event will include a number of under-card bouts followed by the main event, all taking place at Casino Del Sol's 5,000 seat AVA Amphitheater.

"We are thrilled that Fernando has recovered so rapidly and that we do not have to make the people of Tucson wait much longer for the return of world championship boxing," said Robert Valencia, chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. "The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is honored to bring such a high caliber fight to Southern Arizona."

Fernando Vargas sustained a back injury during training early in September, which caused the initial October 3 fight date to be postponed. Following a short recovery and doctors' approval, Fernando will begin training on October 11 for the rescheduled December 12 date.

"I am happy to announce that Fernando is making rapid progress and will be ready to take on Tony Marshall come December," said Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events. "In light of recent events, this match-up has risen to a new level, and Casino Del Sol will provide the perfect backdrop for what is sure to be a night to remember."

Tickets for the new date went on sale today, October 2, at 10:00 a.m., at Casino of the Sun, Casino Del Sol and all Ticketmaster locations. Ticket prices are $1000, $300, $150, $100, $75 and $35. Tickets purchased for the previous date will be honored for the December 12 fight.

The bout will be broadcast live on Univision affiliate Telefutura. It promises to draw a great deal of attention on a national and international level as Vargas continues his quest to regain the Junior Middleweight Championship for the third time.

The world-class bout at Casino Del Sol's intimate AVA Amphitheater promises to bring the heat back to the Southern Arizona desert in December.
