Overcoming Life’s Challenges

People everywhere in the world have at least one thing in common.  Everyone is on a journey through life.  We will all experience adversity and challenges along the way.  We all take different paths though.  We all will reach our destinations at different times.  One of the things we learn during our travels is how to overcome life’s challenges.  You must follow four simple steps to do this.  It is important to master all four steps.

The first step in overcoming life’s challenges is to organize your life.  This requires basic organizational skills.  You can begin by cleaning up your house and car.  It is impossible to deal with the world if you can’t deal with yourself.  Simply by cleaning up you will gain control over your life.  This control is essential when dealing with the problems that face us every day.  Organizing your life also includes filing paperwork, paying bills, and developing a system for your daily operations.  You must adhere to your system.  Most challenges in life are unpredictable.  Therefore, you must control what you can.  One thing you can control is your personal system for operations. 

The second step in overcoming life’s challenges is to remain goal oriented.  Many people travel through life with no clear destination other than their graves.  You must set yourself apart from these people.  The best way to do this is by setting personal goals.  First, set long-term goals.  You do not necessarily have to achieve these goals.  The important thing is to have dreams.  These long-term goals may take years, perhaps a lifetime to achieve.  It is important however, to have short-term goals as well.  You must reach these goals within a few days to a year.  The key to remaining goal oriented is to have a combination of short and long-term goals. 

The third step involves dealing with stress.  No matter how organized or goal oriented you are, you will encounter stress in your life.  This is unavoidable, and you must find ways to deal with it.  Find out what works best for you.  Many people use breathing techniques.  You start by finding a quiet area to be seated.  Clear your mind to begin relaxing.  Then slowly, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.  You may choose to count the seconds of each breath.  It is difficult sometimes to clear your mind at this point.  Clearing your mind is the most important part of stress relief.  You must make a conscious effort to not think.  Once you feel relaxed you must continue for a bit longer.  Another way to deal with stress is exercise.  Exercise is a great way to forget your problems, and it is free.  After exercise your body releases special hormones called endorphins.  These hormones act as a drug on the nervous system.  Endorphins are a safe and legal way to achieve a high.  You must master your chosen methods of dealing with stress.  Many people die because they do not respect the damage that stress inflicts on the body. 

The final step in overcoming life’s challenges is to have fun.  Recreational activities include going out with friends, sports, hobbies, and romance.  Friends are a great because they can help you deal with your problems.  They experience challenges and difficulties as you do.  Friends can act as a support network for each other.  In addition to these benefits, friends can be good networking contacts.  Life presents many opportunities. It is good to know people that can help you.  Avoid becoming a robot at work.  It is impossible to deal with life’s challenges without having fun and recreation.

Everyone deals with life’s challenges every day.  The most successful people embrace these challenges, rather than reject them.  Balance plays a key role in dealing with life.  You must maintain a degree of equilibrium in order to achieve happiness and face life’s challenges.  You will maximize your potential and your happiness by following these four steps.  It is not only important to learn how to overcome life’s challenges.  It is also important to learn how to do this early.  Life is short, and we must not waste the time we have.
