Welcome to Stuttgart Arkansas First Christian Church.

Church History

Stuttgart, settled by Lutheran immigrants from Germany, was incorporated in 1889. The New Lights, a branch of the Presbyterian Church, and Disciples of Christ united their efforts and formed one congregation in 1889 and officially declared themselves as the First Christian Church of Stuttgart. From 1889 until 1928 the church building was located on West Sixth Street. Succeeding years brought growth and the original building was no longer adequate. On July 1, 1927 the ground breaking ceremony for the building at 10th and Main Streets was held. Because of the size of the Fellowship Hall, the church soon became a place where religious and community meetings of every size and description were held. The present home of our congregation is a monument to the good faith and willing sacrifices of our church family from the very beginning.
