At present I’m working with siteinyourname.com as a programmer. Always wanted to make sites within seconds ….very little did I know that my new project would make this possible. Yes, you got it right, the software that I’ve developed here, helps any individual having basic knowledge of computers to make their own site, any time, any way they like without paying any maintenance and updating cost. It’s like being a webmaster for you own website. The best thing about developing this software was that I was put on a challenge to make the impossible possible …..phew a difficult task at coding but an eternal pleasure always. My web career started with an offer from a website called etijaarat. "Tijaarat" meaning business in Arabic language. As the name suggest this site was developed to form a business community on net; for the dawoodi bohra community exclusively. Initially my work for this site was to handle the Akhbar(News) section providing links. But soon I got involved in planning the layout of the site, which actually triggered my programming abilities. I was already learning C and VB programs at this time, further with ASP I got started with making the first online registration, search tool, inbox messaging and address book for each member registered to the site. Also, I developed an admin side administration for the site. However, due to lack of funds the working of this site had to come to a stand still. Whatever little knowledge I had by now gave me enough confidence to start my own website - injamaat.com. An amateur designer was born in me, I learnt HTML, DHTML, Javascript, VBScript, Microsoft Font page, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Coral. For this site I programmed the database on SQL server and built a forum and an online classified. At present, this portal is working in affiliation with Husami Times ( a monthly newspaper for Mumbai Bohra Jamaat). After this was a website for Burhani Trade Fair, where I developed, designed and hosted the site for them. Another exciting experience that's associated with this site was collecting business for them and popularizing the site. Though it was just a fortnight's work it proved that I could surely take up an event managers job if I had an option to choose a career. Its through this site that I got to make two corporate sites one for Burhan Enterprise and other for Motiwala Enterprise. Trading is another venture I would like doing, its probably because of this instinct that I developed sites for my home business - Kitchenware and Nets. The only purpose for making these sites was to showcase our products to our already existing customers far and near. We are now in position to procure more orders without salesmanship, as I have to say. As I said earlier, there is always more room to explore and actually it was through "a digit left unsaid" website that my creativity was tapped and triggered to produce something better, something more, something nearer to perfection. Well, its true my performance has improved in many folds and no doubt will need to improve too. There is an extensive use of JavaScript to make this site a puzzle maze, which has become a navigator's challenge while surfing it. Making a site for Jasmina my friend, added my two bit of courage to her, in boosting her spirits in a task which she has undertaken, which is difficult yet not impossible. It was a more of a give and take confidence that this site could best bargain for me. Vega Perfumes is an online perfume store, the search and the shopping module here is programmed on an ASP platform. The SSl payment gateway is configured through Verisign for this site. I periodically update other features like Newspaper Coupon Discount And Special Discount Packages. Maintaining the web sites is one job I like doing as a webmaster besides all the other initial task of architecting the whole website and developing templates and designing of forms, reports and web pages. As a web designer I've ventured out designing few templates including
the conceptualizing of this site. So, here I am, "The
Journey Begins For A Web Developer".
