... Life! What is a life without no sound. (silence)
And for what use is sound if there is no
m u s i c ?

Scary thought isn't it?

Music has always been an important part of my life. I LOVE my music. And most importantly, I love GOOD music.
There seems to be so much junk on tv and radio these days. It's not everyday that you get to hear bands or acts producing quality stuff.
Of course, it's all up to the individual to sort all the "junk" out there and choose which one's junk and which one's a jewel,
but hey that's what makes the world interesting isn't it?
(I think I'd better now.)

But anywho, if you're interested, here are some music makers whom I think make good music.
Hey hey, I'm not asking you to agree with me at this. You might enjoy Britney's or Oasis' better or something and of course,
everyone IS different.
Here are some people that I'd like to put under my "Favourite" listing cause, well they deserved it!

All-time favourite award : silverchair

Well, what can I say. For people who know me, they'd most definitely know that silverchair is my ultimate ultimate favourite! No denying that these Aussie lads had me hooked for life! I started listening to their stuff from the good old grungy days of Frogstomp and up till their previous (and more mellowed down) album Diorama. The secret?
Well the secret is Daniel Johns' ability to raise high notes, yet retain that certain macho-ism. Include experimental type melodies and walla! You've got silverchair! Hooray!

The new IT - Good Charlotte

Seriously you MUST have heard of them? Good Charlotte's albums (especially The Young & The Hopeless)
successfully made the "Forward" button on my CD player totally insignificant. I'm serious, it IS good! I think the reason
I like 'em so much is because the singer has a super unique voice.
Check out this new IT band here.

The Strokes : the epitome of 'sleek coolness'

The Strokes! The Strokes! The Strokes! I want to give them a big FAT thank you for coming out with
Is This It? in the year '02 because it has been the most overplayed CD in my player ever. They have the whole package for a
great rock band - style, class, and most of all -- originality. Unlike all the other "THE"s out there who came out around
the same time as The Strokes (like The Hives, The Vines, yada yada), they certainly outshone the rest. Their whole 70s image fit perfectly with them and they don't look like they're trying too hard either! Please DO check their stuff out.
Although I have to admit, take their music with a pinch of salt - they're acquired taste!

Paul van Dyk : I HAD to put him up

Before I knew about this DJ, I was listening to some cheesy dance tracks by Shanks & Bigfoot. *sigh* After him, I was up in PvD Heaven... Paul's music is so pleasing, so tantalizing, so superbly crafted that you can't help but fall in love with his sounds and just let the music... ~control you...
Am I exaggerating? Heck no! Try him for yourself.
Oh and another thing, his music is NOT techno.

Goo Goo Dolls - they always have great music

They might flicker on and off in the music industry, but who can deny that Goo Goo Dolls ever made any "tuneless" songs? From their classic Iris to the haunting Black Balloon up til their latest Here Is Gone, they have by far created one timeless melody after another. I could never get tired of their songs ever.

Lifehouse - So what if they're a Christian band?

To cover up any doubts, I heard Lifehouse's 1st single Hanging By A Moment BEFORE i ever saw their video.
Yeah, so that covers the sayings that "I like Lifehouse cause the singer's cute yada yada". The last thing I want to be IS superficial.
This band's songs are good for those "me" moments where you just sit back with a good book and let it all sink in. I have
to comment though, if you combine certain songs from both their albums No Name Face and Stanley Climbfall,
you'd get a hella good rockin' album. Check them out here
Not to be mistaken with THE CALLING!

Dewa who??

This IS the underdog in my list. Yes, this band's Indonesian but despite that, once I've sampled - I'm hooked! I certainly
can't put words to describe Dewa's music. I've just only got their latest album (wahey! and I actually bought it.. LOL)
called Cintailah Cinta [translation : Love, Love] and I can't wait to get my hands on their previous stuff too. I totally
recommend this band to everyone. Type "Dewa - Pupus" in your mp3 search engine and get it!!
Get more Dewa stuff at their mother site.

The Rock Princess : Gwen!

Sorry, I'm not particularly a fan of No Doubt's music, but I *DO* like Gwen Stefani though! Isn't she the ultimate girl's idol??
I just love her style and eccentric-ness, no one else could actually wear the things she did! And who could forget, she does have
Gavin Rossdale to come home to... *Sigh. I wish I was Gwen Stefani....

Schubus Incubus

I've got nothing much to say but... THIS BAND MAKES REALLY GOOD VIDEOS!! Oh, and do get Make Yourself.
That's their best album by far. P.S: Thanks for the all time classic "Drive"!
