A Young Boy’s Perception

He wakes up every morning to go to school

Going to study, obeying every rule

The life of a typical kid

Just like all the other kids around the world

But this image keeps on hunting him down

These images are going to conquer his mind

The image of streets invaded by Zionists

The image of his fellow brothers fighting like extremists

He decides to truant his school

To face his world, this is ever so cruel

So he gets ready to join the fight

Unlike all the other kids around the world

His mother gets a call from the school

Telling her that Fares is not on his stool

She runs across the streets to get him out of there

Getting him out of this long lasting warfare

She warns him once and twice

That if he carries on like this he’ll be paying the price

The price Palestine has paid for years

The day has come; his soul has been found

The day his blood poured down on the ground

His blood feeding the earth of Palestine

His victory finds its way through all the tears to stand out shine

He calls for you to pursue his path

He calls to remind you of our present and past

No matter what they put us against

A riffle, a tank even a wall out of cement

We are going to avoid any fall

We are capable of standing above it all
