Er...I really think Dorothy is the nicest pair for Quatre. Trowa would be kind of good actually, if only Quatre was a girl, which he isn't. He's pretty cute you know, he's my favorite among the five ^-^ This is my first Quatre+Dorothy fanfic, so...maybe it won't be that good and live by your expectations. Oh yeah...sorry if this one's kinda angsty ^^;
The wind was cold. Her feet could feel the freezing
ground, her legs unconscious about the stinging of ice through her skin.
Her skin grew paler and paler, the freezing weather making her skin oddly
white with pink spots all over. Her teeth chattered uncontrollably, biting
her lips to be able to even stop them. Her body felt numb, she couldn't
walk against the cruel weather. The sky was really falling, the sight in
front of her was almost blurry white with snow. Skies dark and the surroundings
giving her shudders. Dorothy sighed, a thick cloud of mist coming out of
her breath.
The only thing that kept her moving was the person
she was with. Seeing that he was still alive and was still with her, it
gave her strength. Swearing that she'll be strong, swearing that she will
be with him. If he gets out of this, she will too. She didn't mind if her
whole body shivered in disapproval with her conscience, she will help herself.
No other help, just as long as his presence was there. A faint smile spread
through her lips, eyeing the blond haired man she was with.
"Quatre..."
They probably must be looking for them right now.
How she wished heaven would shine upon them and give way to them. She wished
they could be out of the freezing cold, out of the torture they're in at
the very moment. She wasn't only doing it for herself, she also want it
for...him. Seeing him so hopeless, seeing him so pained was too much to
bear. She couldn't remember how they've gone here. She couldn't remember
why they were there, couldn't remember how they faced it. The only thing
she could remember was herself getting lost in the wilderness. She could
remember herself running in the darkness, not knowing what to do. She saw
herself cry. She then remembered him calling her name.
She sighed again. Even if the coldness of the place
made her suffer, the mere thought of him concerned about her gave her warmth.
It gave her much more warmth when she felt his hand close in on hers, holding
it tight. She eyed it for a moment, her fingers twining tentatively with
his. She felt his fingers hold hers tight, no move of rejection from him.
She walked with him closer, by his side, seeking even a little bit of his
warmth. Hard for her to admit it, she was tired. Her mind wants her to
go on, but her body refused to do so. She wanted to stop for a moment,
even just for a second to catch her breath. She knew he wouldn't mind.
"Quatre...let's take a rest" she murmured, wishing
he did hear it. A sigh of relief escaped her as he looked back at her and
smiled. "I'll try to look for a good place" he said with a smile, a smile
that had been forgotten since a while ago. He had been so serious ever
since they've been stuck in that snow storm. She nodded slightly, not finding
the words to thank him.
Moments later, the two sought refuge on a cave not
far from where they had walked from. The sat beside each other, finding
the cold stone ground hard to sit on. Dorothy let out a sneeze, the cold
getting into her head. Small, short coughs had escaped through her
mouth as well. Quatre looked at her with concern, slowly and carefully running a hand through her back. Dorothy's eyes began to
swell, beads of tears forming. It wasn't only from the sneezes and coughs, it was also from the fear she had inside her. Tears fell as
the thought of the two of them dying right there in that very cave.
"Don't worry, I'm here" her companion's soothing voice interrupted her worries. Dorothy glanced on one side, exposing her tearful
eyes. He immediately wiped them off from her cheeks and smiled. "Whatever happens, I'm here" he muttered, his eyes looking deep
into hers. He's so kind, even after all the things she had said and done to him, he still didn't care. He looked at her with much warmth
no one else could even ask for more. Remembering the times she was with him, especially when they were in Libra. She couldn't
imagine herself threatening to kill him. The one person she least wanted to lose.
Her chest was about to burst. If this was the last moment, she wouldn't take any chances. Partially because of her body's state pf
weakness, she leaned her head on his shoulder, finding the small space comfortable for her to lean on. He made a small shifting, but it
wasn't for rejecting her, he shifted for her to be able to lean more comfortably on him. His arm reflexively crawled up her back, pulling
her closer to him, locking her in his warmth.
"You'll be safe. If ever something happens to us, we'll be together" he assured, feeling her body shiver against his own. He
instinctively placed a shaking hand across her cheek, feeling the skin there was as cold as his palm. Placing a kiss on her forehead for
a little warmth, he leaned his head on hers, closing his eyes. He couldn't bear the cold, and it was getting too much of him. A final
word was said, as he fell into an everlasting slumber. "Aishiteru, Dorothy"
Dorothy was startled. She quickly withdrew from him, glancing up at him. His lips were pale, no more color spread across his
beautiful face. His hands fell limply around her body, his head almost falling from her shoulder. Dorothy cried, muffling his name in
her chest. She leaned back on the wall, surrounding herself with his arms. She closed her eyes, kissing him one last time. Feeling
herself slowly slipping away, a final sigh was released from her lips. "Aishiteru, Quatre..."
