Sayonara Aishiteru IV

"Minamino-san!"
"Minamino! Pick me!"
"No! Minamino's with me!"

Girls started to fight over being Kurama's lab partner. Their teacher just told them that they could choose any partner, as long as they're not both girls or boys. So far...he hasn't got anyone yet, not until the girls would stop fighting over him and would let him choose from all of them. The guys looked at Shuuichi with jealousy as they all crowded up on one corner of the room. Mr. Aitenshi, their chemistry teacher, hit the his desk as he ordered everyone to come back to their seats.
"Alright, I'm giving you a week to have a partner, or else I'll just assign your partners, is that okay?" Mr. Aitenshi's deep voice asked everyone as they all nodded. He then dismissed everyone. Kaitou walked up at the exausted Shuuichi on his seat.
"Oy, Kurama, you okay?" he asked. Kurama nodded.
"Hai. Just a little bit tired" he replied. Kaitou laughed at the thought of the incident a while ago.
"You made Mr. Aitenshi pretty mad a while ago" he said with a grin. Kurama winced.
"That's not my fault!" he defended. Kaitou just laughed.
"So? Who's the lucky girl?" he asked. Kurama thought for a while. No one without a doubt, he's going to have a hard time with this. He just shrugged as a reply.

"Botan-chan? Are you awake?" Ayame knocked on the ferrygirl's door. No one answered. "Botan-chan, I've come to bring you something to eat, open the door"
The door slowoly opened and revealed Botan with her eyes as red as an apple. She have pretty much cried the whole time. She let Ayame in. The other ferrygirl walked inside and placed the tray on the table. "Feeling better?"
"Hai, arigatou, Ayame-chan" Botan thanked her and sat on her bed. Ayame sat beside her and held her hand.
"You know what Botan-chan? I have a little secret, but don't tell anyone, okay?" she asked her. Botan looked at her friend and nodded. Ayame smiled. "You have feelings for Kurama-san, right?" Botan nodded. "I have feelings for someone too".
"Who is he?" Botan asked. Ayame's smile faded and looked down. She mumbled something but Botan couldn't hear. "Nani? Who?"
"It's Koenma-sama" she replied sadly. Botan gasped, she wouldn't have thought it was Koenma. She looked at her friend with sad eyes as Ayame's ears began to fall down.
"I---I'm sorry" Botan apologized. Ayame sobbed but wiped and tears anyway. She then smiled at Botan.
"That's okay, it wasn't your fault anyway. It's Enma Daioh-sama's decision and we can't change that," she said. Botan felt a twang of sadness inside her. She remembered, those were the exact same things Kurama said to her. "all we have to do is to follow. I know Koenma-sama likes you, so don't be sad. Look at me, I never said anything about it and just smile for both of you. You'll eventually learn to love Koenma-sama, you'll see" she said with a smile that didn't exactly reach her eyes. Her eyes were in tears but they just stayed there. She touched Botan's cheek and left her. Botan couldn't believe it. Ayame had just given Koenma to her, just to make him happy. She wondered if that was the exact thing Kurama would do for her...

Kurama walked home from school. Today was a very bad day for him. Not only did the girls followed him all day, but even the guys who thought they were girl in their imaginations would even follow him. By accident, a girl made him spill his dink over his shirt, tore his book by letting them turn the page for him and drew a large line on his notebook as another girl was pushed over him. He sighed in exasperation. and disgust. A picture of Botan suddenly hit his head. It hit him so hard, he almost fell down. Botan... he thought. Will her ever see her again? It bothers him. He had tried all sorts of thing just to forget about her. He hid all her pictures in the attic, he just couldn't bear tearing them apart, he resisted in looking in blue and purple for they remind him of her, he changed his screen saver for the name "Botan" would always float about in his computer. He even tried hitting his head so hard, he'll have amnesia and forget about her. Of course, he wasn't that dumb to do that, but he was that desperate to have that thought in him. He conitued walking down the street and to the road. As he crossed, his mind was elsewhere, not minding the speeding cars coming over him. He walked, almost over the other side when a speeding truck almost knocked him down! Fortunatley, a branch was thrown on his back and pushed him right over the other side of the street, of course, he fell down. He then heard laughter, a deep laughter.
"Boy, you really are pathetic kitsune!" he heard Hiei's voice. He rubbed his back and looked up with an irritated face.
"You could've warned me instead of that!" he shouted at his friend who was still guffawing in front of him.
"Hey! I was in a tree at that time!" he answered back. Kurama sighed and continued walking again with hiei behind him.

"So...what Yusuke said was true. You have never been this out cold before" Hiei said as the silence of his companion overwhelmed him. Kurama was usually the one who starts the conversation. It was pretty strange, that ferrygirl really changed his friend. Hiei resigned to the silence and just walked with Kurama. They walked in silence until they reached their destination. Kurama opened the door and let Hiei in. Hiei sat down on the couch as Kurama walked to the kitchen and prepared something for them to snack on. Hiei watched Kurama do everything in silence.
"What happened to you?" he asked. Kurama looked up at him.
"Nani?" he asked with a confused look. Hiei sat up and eyed him.
"I said, what happened to you? I mean, you've never been this quiet before" he told him Kurama looked down and just shook his head.
"There's nothing to talk about" he answered. Hiei smirked and sat down again. He clickd the remote as the silver screen in front of him flicked up. Suddenly, there was a knocking on Kurama's door. Hiei opened it and revealed Yusuke with Kuwabara. They went in and greeted Hiei and Kurama. Kurama forced a smile to them and gestured them to seat down. As usual, Kuwabara and Hiei started to fight over the remote all ove again. Kurama just shook his head and placed the tray of food on the table. Kuwabara started with the orange juice, then gobbled up the food.

"Kurama, a ferrygirl of Koenma's came over a while ago" Yusuke started. Kurama almost nipped his finger on the knife he was holding after hearing the name of his rival. He furrowed his brows and nodded Yusuke to continue. "And...she handed this to me. It's an invitation to their wedding, they pretty much prepared for it already. All of us are invited" he said. Kurama's fury tensed up again. What was Koenma up to this time? Couldn't he just leave him alone? He probably want him to see their wedding as he and Botan exchange their vows right in front of his eyes. Or maybe he just wants Youko Krama to be back to come over and kill him?! He shook the thoughts away.
"So?" Kurama asked coldly. Yusuke swallowed hard. This was hard, Kurama's pretty much annoyed witht he conversation. Kuwabara and Hiei stopped their yapping as well and just listened to the two.
"I...I was just thinking, are you coming?" Yusuke asked. Kurama almost choked on his drink. The thought brought him shivers down his spine.
"Uh...n-no...I-I can't Yusuke" he answered, placing his glass on the table and clearing his throat. Yusuke nodded.
"Uh-huh...you know if you don't want us to go, we won't" he said and looked at the others. Hiei and Kuwabara just nodded with a smile. Kurama grinned in his thought, maybe he would ask them not to go. That would really make Koenma look bad. But of course, that was Botan's day too. He couldn't do that to her. Her happiness is his goal, even if that happiness won't be with him. He resigned at the thought and shook his head.
"N-No, you have to go. I'm sure they would both like that" he replied. Yusuke, Kuwabara and Hiei looked at each other with confused looks. Kurama smiled to reassure them of what he said. They all agreed to come, thought they were still having second thoughts.

Yusuke and Kuwabara left at about 9:00 in the evening. Kurama and Hiei was left in Kurama's house. Hiei just looked at his friend with disbeliefe of what he had said a while ago. How could he? Of course, he wasn't that faithful to Koenma, and he thought that the incident would make Kurama furious over the Reikai prince. Kurama was really giving Hiei a headache. They both just stared at the TV, not even knowing if they are really understanding what they're watching for Kurama would flick the channels over and over and over, he didn't even stop to look if something was really on. He sighed and just gave Hiei the remote after flicking them 6 times over and over from the first channel to the last. Hiei snickered and took the remote. After steadying the channels on just one, they watched the TV for an hour. Kurama just remained silent since yusuke and Kuwabara left and just sat there with Hiei's company.

Maybe it's the ferrygirl Hiei thought to himself. The thought of Kurama, Botan and Koenma flick was heating up over his head. Maybe he just wants her to be happy. Probably he told himself. He turned off the TV and looked at the guy beside him. Kurama has fallen asleep. With a short laugh, Hiei went upstairs and took a blanket from Kurama's bed. He covered Kurama with it and shook his head.
"Kurama...you really are pathetic" he commented and walked out the door, locking the door behind him.

"Okay, you know what you're supposed to do?" he asked her. The girl nodded in the darkness as she kneeled on one knee.
"Yes, master" she answered. He nodded and plastered a smile on his face.
"I'm hoping you would do a good job on this one" he told her.the girl grinned and looked up at him.
"Of course, this is the easiest job you gave me" she said, her evil smile almost touched her ears. "You won't be disappointed, master"
"Good!" he said and gestured her away. The girl suddenly disappeared.

Kurama woke up and glanced at the clock. It was 5:00 in the morning, time for him to get ready for school. He sat up on the couch and folded the covers. He figured out Hiei gave it to him last night. He noted himself to thank him later. He heated up some water in the tea pot and went to take a bath. After readying himself, he took his bag and walked to school.

"Minamino!" Tokou, a guy from his class ran up to him as Kurama walked inside the school gates. Kurama greeted his friend with a smile and a wave. "Oy, Shuuichi, have you heard about the new girl? I hear she's pretty cute" he said with a grin. He placed an arm around Shuuichi and led him on one side of the school. He pointed out to a girl seated on one of the benches.
"That's her there" Tokou said with hearts popping out of his eyes. "She's so cute...and sexy too!" he commented. Kurama eyed the girl. He must admit, she really is breath-taking. She was wearing the school uniform, but she wasn't like any of the girls. She has her legs crossed, leaving half of her leg exposed to the two of them. She has long black hair that extends to her back. He eyes were focused on the book she was holding, her shining lips twitched in a smile. She had a nice technique of wearing make-up, which made her almost one of the prettiest girls in the campus.

She probably felt the eyes watching her as she looked up at the two. Tokou almost fell on the ground as he saw her look at him. She laughed a bit and focused her eyes on Kurama. His eyes widened as she smiled at him, a cold...seductive smile.
