Once A Child

Once A Child

Heehee...another attempt to make another Tokiya+Fuuko fic. This one would have multiple chapters, so if you can't stand long updating stories, maybe you could wait until this one's over. It's only 2-3 chapters ^_^

"Eeeeyyyooowww!!!" Koganae screeched as a mug of hot coffe was accidentally dropped in his hands. They were in Yanagi's place. Everyone in the Hokage team was there, Recca, Yanagi, Tokiya, Fuuko, Domon and Kaoru. And Ganko too. Summer vacation just came by yesterday, giving all of them a chance to spend more time together with everyone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Fuuko apologized and wiped the stain away from the table. Kaoru jumped around in pain, blowing widely at his hand. He then rushed to the kitchen, turned on the faucet and placed his hand under the cold water.
"Oh Fuuko, you should be more careful!" Kaoru complained as he continued cooling himself. Fuuko finished taking the stain of and ran to the kitchen as well.
"I said I was sorry" she apologized again. Kaoru gave her a stern glare.
"If only you placed it somewhere else rather than the edge of the table!"
"Sorry?"
"Not good enough!"
Fuuko sighed and just washed the cloth in her hands. The two came back to the living room with Kaoru holding a bowl of iced, cold water. "How's your hand?" Recca asked. Kaoru just shrugged in reply.
"Still hurts?" Domon asked.
"Yep" came the reply from the boy.
"Geez, if only you could have placed it somewhere safe" Mikagami butted in while leaning on the couch.
"Don't blame Fuuko. Everyone makes mistakes" Yanagi said, defending Fuuko. Ganko agreed with her. So did Domon.
"Why're you all on her side anyway? You saw it, it was her fault" he answered back at them. Fuuko's face fell down. Tokiya was still as cold as ever, even colder than the coldest ice. Always opposing to what everybody says.
"I did apologize didn't I?" she asked him angrily. A shrug was just her reply and,
"But if I were in Kaoru's place, I wouldn't forgive you from just a plain 'sorry'" he told her with a glare. Fuuko gave back the challenging look.
"What would YOU do?" she asked.
"Things" he said. "You always act like a kid, you never grow up" he told her as-a-matter-of-factly. The painful words thrust inside Fuuko, almost making her cry. Why would Mikagami say those things to her? As if he himself don't make mistakes.
"Don't say those things, Mikagami" Yanagi said. Tokiya just looked away in reply.
"Hey! What's the commotion about? Just because of me?!" Kaoru asked, waving his free hand out.
"It's not you, it's her" Tokiya said, pointing his eyes at Fuuko. Tears were about to fall from Fuuko's eyes.
"You're the rudest person I ever knew Mikagami!" She yelled at him.
"And probably the most honest. All that I said was true. You're worse than a spoiled brat! I bet you're even worse when you were a kid" he answered back. Fuuko glared at him with wet eyes.
"Dammit Tokiya! Damn you!" Fuuko shouted and ran out the door, shutting it behind her.
"Now look what you did!" Domon said angrily, almost standing up to look for her.
"Leave her alone, she won't have a problem with what I said, she'll take it all in somehow"

But Mikagami was wrong. Outside, Fuuko ran down the street towards her house, her tears being dried up by the contact with the wind. That Mikagami, I swear I'll get back on him for doing those things to me she cursed in her mind. She continued running down until...

BUMP!

She was hit by someone who just came out a store.
"Oh, I'm so sorry" the lady said and helped Fuuko up. Fuuko regained her composure and patted her arms and pants. As if she hasn't embarrassed herself one too many that day. She looked up at the store and noticed the sign up above it.
"'The Magic Shop'?" she read. The lady who she had just bumped with nodded her head.
"Yes. They say the thing there really works. The fortune teller inside is also a nice person" she said. Fuuko looked up at the sign again. Fortune telling, huh she thought. It may not hurt to try and look around it. Afterall, what the woman said interested her. It may also help her forget about what just hapened.

Fuuko tentatively opened the door. It made a soft creak before it closes again with another creak. Fuuko removed her shoes and walked on inside. It was quite dark, and the path she walked on has an elegant red carpetting. Gold, jewels and liquids in small, attractive bottles were displayed all over the place with locked glass windows to lock them inside. Fuuko admired the show in front of her when...

"What have you come here for?"

An old, crooked voice called from behind her. Fuuko jumped to her feet and looked at where the voice came from.
"Scared you, didn't I?" a now, more, friendly voice sounded. Fuuko entered the tapestry which leads to a small room with a woman, at about her 30's, seated on a chair with a crystal ball on the table in front of her. "You have a problem and want my help?" she asked.
"Not exactly..." Fuuko replied. The woman raised a thin brow of hers, "I was just looking around when you called"
"I see. But anyway, you still want me to look at your fortune? Or anything you want to buy? Or any wish you want to make? Or---"
"Wish?" Fuuko echoed. The lady stopped her yabbling and stopped to look at Fuuko.
"Yes, dear, wishes. Anything you want to make?" she asked, holding up a small bottle like the ones outside Fuuko saw. "This is only for one wish, but it doesn't cost much either, so, do you want to take it?"
Fuuko stared at the bottle for a moment. Wishes... a tiny grin spread across her face.
"You bet!" she said, taking the bottle and digging her pockets for some money. You're dead, Mikagami, drop down dead!

"I wonder what happened to Fuuko" Ganko said wearily to the others.
"I'm sure she's fine, Ganko, don't worry. Fuuko's a big girl and can take care of herself" Yanagi said, patting Ganko softly on the head.
"Yeah, right" Mikagami said sarcastically from the back.
"Quit it, Mikagami. You do remember what you did to poor Fuuko a while ago, didn't you?" Recca asked him. Mikagami just shrugged.
"Oh for pete's sake. She'll be fine. All that I said was just---aahh!" he cried out. A sudden stroke of headache just hit him.
"You okay?" Recca asked. Mikagami massaged his temples.
"Headache. I gotta go" he said, standing up.

"Let's see...how about...a thief coming over his place and steal everything he owns?" Fuuko asked herself. For the past half hour, she'd been trying to figure out a nice wish to take revenge on Mikagami. "Nah, too corny. Uhm...a lone wolf jumping in his bed and rip his head off and eat it!" she said with her pointing finger up. She imagined the thought of it, but it just made her sick. "Oh no! That'd be too much. Another try" she said..."a guitar dropping on his head and passing him out?" too light this time. Fuuko thought really hard. "A little girl...coming over and..." Fuuko scratched her head. This is not going to be easy. " A girl coming over and...." and evil grin. "And making his life a living hell"
