"Come on Botan, let's just do this next time" Kurama protested as Botan pulled him by the sleeves of his jacket.
"Please? Don't worry, it'll be my treat" Botan pleaded. She stopped in her tracks and faced Kurama with the most hypnotizing puppy eyes she ever gave him. Kurama took a step back.
"But...Botan"
"Please?" Botan held his hands this time.
"Botan I---"
Just then, Yusuke and Keiko passed by them. Yusuke has his arms around Keiko as Keiko has hers around Yusuke's waist.
"Oi, Kurama, Botan, what'cha doin'?" Yusuke asked them as he and Keiko stopped to greet them. Botan looked at Kurama and turned to Yusuke angrily.
"Kurama is being selfish" Botan replied.
"What are you talking about?" Kurama asked.
"I asked you to take me out, I even agreed it to be my treat, but you're so hard-headed!"
"Hard-headed?!"
"Why not?!"
"Hey, calm down, we're going to that new store down the corner, wanna come?" Keiko said to stop the two. Botan looked at her.
"I want to come" she said, raising her hand. Kurama turned to her.
"I thought you're with me?!"
"I thought you don't want to!"
"Who told you that?!"
"It looks like it!"
"Well it isn't!"
"What do you mean?!"
"What do YOU mean?!"
"Aaargh!"
"Hey, maybe we should leave the two of you alone" Yusuke said as he placed his hand on Keiko's shoulder.
"Yeah, you two should agree about this for the mean-time" Keiko said and the two of them left. Botan crossed her arms and looked at Kurama.
"So what do you want to do?" she asked, impatiently tapping her foot. Kurama turned away and sighed. He then faced her and smiled.
"Still wanna go?" he asked and placed an arm around Botan's waist and held her hand.
"My treat" he whispered and kissed her. Botan turned her frown into a smile and nodded gently.
"Oi!" a voice came from above. Kurama turned to it.
"Hiei!" Botan called. Hiei leaped down the tree he was in and tucked his hands on his pockets.
"What are you doing there?" Kurama asked, letting Botan go off his grasp.
"Nothing" Hiei replied with a shrug. "Would you mind if I walk with you?"
"For what?" Botan asked.
"I want to know where you'll be going"
Kurama raised an eyebrow in question. He glanced at Botan. Botan shrugged so they decided he could come.
"I'm not going with you, I just want to know where you're going" Hiei said. Kurama sweatdropped and placed his arm around Botan again. They walked and Hiei followed. As they were about to turn around the corner, a suprise shocked Kurama.
"Minamino-kun!" a girl with shoulder-length hair greeted him with a big smile.
"Ki---Kitajima-san?" Kurama asked as he stepped back. The girl giggled.
"Long time, no see, Minamino-kun" she said with a smile. She then turned to Botan and Hiei.
"Who are they?" she asked. Kurama turned to Botan and then Hiei.
"Um, Kitajima-san, this is Botan----"
"You're girlfriend?" she asked cheerfully.
"Er, um....I----"
"Don't worry, I'm not" Botan answered nervously with a smile. Maya turned to her and smiled.
"Don't worry, you can tell me" she said. Kurama sighed in relief. Maya's still the friendly Maya he once knew, he just wondered if she still feels something for him, now that he already found someone else.
"Minamino-kun? She's your girlfriend, right?" she asked again. Kurama ran a shaking hand in his hair. Somehow, he felt nervous around her. Finally, he nodded. Maya smiled.
"That's so cute! She's really pretty!" she said cheerfully. Botan smiled at her. Kurama sighed again in relief. Maya then turned to Hiei.
"Who is he?" she asked. Hiei smirked and turned away.
"That's Hiei" Botan answered. Kurama smiled, Botan seemed to be befriending Maya pretty well.
"Oh? Nice to meet you, Hiei" she said and stretched out her hand for a shake. Hiei looked at it and then turned to her.
"Hn, baka" he whispered, not enough for her to hear, his hands still tucked in his pockets. Maya's smile faded a bit but she still wore a smile.
"It's okay" she said and took back her hand. "Okay, see you around, nice meeting you again Botan-chan...and Hiei-kun" she said and then left.
"Isn't that your old girlfriend?" Hiei asked as they continued to walk.
"She's never been my gilfriend, remember?" Kurama said in reply. Hiei shrugged.
"'Guess I forgot" he answered.
"She seem to be nice, Kurama" Botan said and turned to them. Kurama shrugged.
"Yeah, she is" he answered.
"I hope I can meet her again" Botan said with a smile.
"Hn, baka..." Hiei just muttered.
"Er, ehe, let's just get going ok?" Botan asked and pulled Kurama faster.
"Botan-chan!" a voice called from behind Botan. She was about to go to the park that day. She turned around and saw Maya running up to her. "Botan-chan!" she called again. Botan stopped and turned around. She smiled to her. Maya panted as she caught up with Botan.
"Hello, Botan!" she greeted cheerfully. She smiled at her...again.
"Nice seeing you again, Maya-chan" Botan greeted back.
"Um, Botan-chan? Can I talk to you for a second?" she asked and dragged Botan inside the park. They sat down on one of the benches beside a tree.
"What is it, Maya-chan?" Botan asked. Maya blushed and bit her nail.
"Um, Botan-chan? You know that guy who was with you yesterday?" she asked nervously.
"You mean Kura---I mean, Shuuichi-kun?" she asked.
"No the other one"
"Hiei?" Botan asked again. This time, Maya blushed deeply. She nodded slightly.
"Does he---um, you know, like you and Minamino-kun?" she said turning to face her. Botan raised an eyebrow in question.
"What do you mean?" Botan asked.
"You're Minamino-kun's girlfriend, right?" she asked imaptiently, but still has a nervous voice. Botan thought for a while. She thought Maya liked Kurama, why is she asking about Hiei?
"Uh...." Botan muttered again, still not having a clue about what Maya is talking about.
"Is he having, um---is there a girl who...you know?" Maya asked again.
"Oh, you mean does he have a girlfriend?" Botan asked again. Maya blushed even more and covered her face. Botan sweatdropped. A thought of Mukuro popped in her head. She thought for a while. She's not his girlfriend or something like that, isn't she? Love doesn't even exist in Makai, so how could he? Maybe he just likes her or something, Mukuro's pretty kind towards him.
"I----don't think so" Botan replied. Somehow, Maya smiled and her nervousness faded.
"Okay, that's all Botan-chan" she said happpily. She stood up but Botan caught her hand.
"No offense, Maya-chan, but do you like Hiei-kun?" Botan asked. Maya looked down.
"Promise you won't tell?" she asked. Botan smiled and nodded. Then, Maya smiled and nodded. Botan jumped up from her seat.
"Maya-chan!"
"What?"
"You mean Hiei-kun?!" Maya immediately covered Botan's mouth.
"You promised!"
"I did, but---"
"Botan-chan" Maya pleaded in front of Botan. Botan almost slap herself with what she's hearing. Maya has fallen for Hiei! Botan shivered at the thought. Then she turned to Maya.
"I'm not sure about this Maya" Botan said.
"I just like him, not the kind when I want to go out with him or like that...please help me? He looks pretty scary" Maya said with a shrug. Botan sweatdropped.
"Hiei's not that easy to get, you know" Botan said.
"Please?" Botan finally sighed in defeat.
"I'll try"
"Hn, baka" Hiei muttered as he and Kurama walked together.
"Put a lid on it, hiei, she's not that bad" Kurama told his friend.
"If it's like that, wy don't you get back to her?" Hiei asked annoyed.
"I kinda like Botan better" Kurama answered.
"Hn...."
"...baka" Kurama said, imitating Hiei's voice. Hiei looked at him with an annoyed look.
"I think she likes you, no offense to Mukuro but---"
"Mukuro?!" Hiei asked suddenly.
"Isn't she your---I mean, aren't you having this, um...."
"Shut up! I don't want to hear it" Hiei shouted, covering his ears. Kurama sweatdropped and continued on walking.
"Hiei-kun! Kurama-kun!" a voice called from behind the two. Kurama turned around and saw yukina running up to them.
"Hello, Yukina-chan" Kurama greeted.
"Good morning to both of you!" Yukina greeted back. Hiei smiled at her. Yukina's the only one who can make Hiei smile.
"Is something bothering you, Hiei-kun" Yukina asked worriedly. hiei turned to her, suprised.
"Uh, no...don't worry" Hiei answered.
"Minamino-kun!" Maya called from behind them. Botan followed behind her. Maya waved at the three. "Good morning!" she said as she ran up to them.
"Hi, Maya-chan, meet Yukina-chan" Kurama said, turning to Yukina then to Maya. Hiei smirked at her presence, but just stayed quiet.
"Nice to meet you, Yukina-chan" Maya said cheerfully. Yukina giggled. She shook hands with Maya.
"Nice to meet you too, Maya" she said sweetly. Hiei smirked again, his sister is pretty much liking this girl.
"Are you Hiei-kun's sister?" Maya asked. Botan, Kurama and Hiei almost jumped off where their standing, especially Hiei.
"What?!" Hiei asked, nervously.
"Isn't she, but you---"
"Maya-chan, we have to go, uh, bye guys" Botan said covering Maya's mouth.
"Oh, so that's it" Maya said as she nodded, meaning she understands.
"Yes, Hiei-kun doesn't want her to know" Botan explained. The incident a while ago with Yukina and Hiei suprised Botan. She forgot that Kurama told her about Maya once, and she could read minds a bit."So please don't tell Yukina?"
"I promise" Maya said with a smile, raising her hand in full pledge. "But Botan-chan...about what were talking about a while ago?"
"Oh, so what do you want again?" Botan asked. Maya leaned towards her and whispered something. "Set you up with Hiei?!" Botan asked frantically as Maya stood in front of her, signaling her to keep quiet about it.
"But, but Maya...you----do you----urgh, you could die with that, do you know?!" Botan said in panic. Maya placed an arm around her.
"I know Botan-chan, but even just once?" Maya pleaded. She looked at Botan with despare that Botan couldn't resist.
"Okay, but I'll be needing all the help I could get"
"She what?!" Kurama asked, suprised, he almost fell off the bench. "But, do you realize Hiei could---er----let's say....kill her?!"
"She doesn't care, she said I could only do this once for her" Botan explained. Botan was sitting with Kurama in a bench where she usually talk with Kurama. Kurama ran a hand through his hair and looked at her.
"So what are you going to do?" he asked.
"I don't know, that's why I talkedd to you" Botan replied with a frown. Kurama chuckled.
"You man you want me to help?" he asked with a grin, an eyebrow raised in question. Botan slightly nodded. "This'll cost you, you know"
"What?" Botan asked.
"You'll have to go out with me sometime" Kurama said, his grin not disappearing from his face.
"You could ask for anything, you know, we could go out anytime" Botan said with a quirked eyebrow. Kurama leaned against the back of the bench.
"You're right...hey, why not just a double date with them? How's that" Kurama said excitedly. Botan thought for a moment and then clasped her hands together.
"Okay, that a great idea, I'll go tell her"
"Oh, I'll love that Botan-chan!" Maya said excitedly as Botan told her their plan. "But, does Hiei know about this?"
"Do you realize that I could...KILL YOU FOR THIS? KURAMA WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!" Hiei asked angrily and somewhat worried look on his face.
"Come on, just this once, I never really gone on a double-date before, please?" Kurama pleaded as Hiei's look at him sent daggers through him.
"You know why I always wear this sword with me, kitsune?!" he asked again through gritted teeth. Kurama hit his friend's back firmly. Hiei scowled at him.
"You're cute when you're mad, now I know why Maya likes you. You're always angry when you're with her right?" Kurama asked jokingly with a chuckle. Hiei stared daggers at him again.
"KURAMA!!!"
"Yeah yeah, but I'm only doing this for Botan, please? Do we have to kill each other because of this?!" Kurama asked seriously. Hiei looked away.
"Hn"
"What?! Don't fail me now, Botan looked pretty excited about this, I don't want her feeling sad or anything!" Kurama said pleadingly. Hiei looked at him, annoyed.
"Bah, Botan this, Botan that, I might hurt her, I might make her feel bad, I might, she may, for cryin' out loud Kurama, you've done her more favor that science did for men!" Hiei complained, waving his hands frantically in the air.
"But I love her!" Kurama protested. Hiei stared at his friend with disgust.
"When the whole Makai hear's their ol' Youko Kurama like this, I might be speaking for the whole Makai raise when I say...EEEW! YOU DISGUST ME!" Hiei said, really really annoyed this time.
"Please! I'll do anything!" Kurama pleaded, again. ...I will? Kurama thought for a while. Is he doing this for Botan or for Maya not to like him anymore. Maybe the fear of Maya coming back to him might break Botan's heart....so maybe he WAS doing this for Botan. He doesn't want to hurt her or anything, like Hiei said.
"I'll think about it, kitsune" Hiei muttered coldy.
"Hiei you're the best friend I ever had, I could hug you for this!" Kurama said laying both hands on his friend's shoulder.
"YOU REALLY DISGUST ME!" Hiei shouted as he slapped Kurama's hands off.
"Wai! Thank you Kurama!" Botan cheered as she hugged Kurama tightly. Kurama smiled.
"Well, I'm not sure, but I think he might agree" he replied. Botan let go and turned to Maya who was wearing an excited smile.
"Did you hear that Maya-chan?" Botan asked excitedly. Maya nodded happily.
"Thank you Kurama-kun, er, can I call you that?" she asked with a sweet smile. Kurama chuckled.
"Sure Maya, now can I call you that?" he asked. The three of them laughed.
"Okay, so, what?" Botan asked.
"What, what?" Maya asked.
"I mean we should plan it out, right? Or, maybe we should wait for Hiei's decision first" Botan said as she thought.
"I think we better wait for him" Kurama replied. Botan and Maya nodded.
"Okay, we'll wait"
"Yukinaaa!!!" Kuwabara's voice rang up the temple. All of them, including Maya, who was invited by Botan, were all there in genkai's temple.
"I like this place, thanks for bringing me here, Botan-chan" Maya said with a smile. Botan smiled back and turned to Kuwabara.
"Sit down, Kuwa-chan, she'll arrive any minute" Botan said, gesturing him to sit down. She turned to Hiei who was gritting his teeth angrily. Then she turned to Kurama who was looking at Hiei with a large sweatdrop.
"Hiei, please, calm down" Kurama told him.
"How can I now that that ditz..."
"Who?" Kurama asked angrily.
"yeah yeah, now that that girl, or whatever---" Hiei rolled his eyes. "---brought that old classmate of yours, and that baka..." he said pointing at Kuwabara, "...is trying to ruin my sister's life!" he said through gritted teeth. kurama sweatdropped again.
"Hiei-kun, you know Yukina-chan likesKuw-chan too" Keiko said who was sitting beside Hiei.
"Yeah, they look good together, except for their hiegth"yusuke said calmly laid against the wall. Hiei gritted his teeth harder, they almost shatter.
"Yukina!" Genkai's voice rang up. All of them stood up in suprise and ran to where Genkai was.
"Yukina!" Genkai called again. They all arrived, and to everyone's suprise, Genkai sat beside Yukina who fainted just now.
"Yukina-chan!" Kuwabara cried and sat beside her fainted figure. Hiei could only watch, he couldn't move, too worried about his sister. But to Hiei's suprise, Maya kneeled down beside Yukina and touched her forehead.
"She has a fever, let's bring her somewhere where she could rest" she said and turned to Genkai. Genkai nodded. She gestured Kuwabara to carry Yukina and asked him to follow. The others followed behind them.
"Are you sure about this?" Hiei asked worriedly walking back and fort in front of the door with his hands clasped behind him. Maya, Genkai and Yukina were inside as they waited outside Yukina's room.
"Calm down Hiei, I think Maya took medicine when she left town, she knows these things" Kurama explained. Hiei just ignored him and continued on walking back and fort.
"Okay, we're done" Maya announced as she wiped her forehead with her hanky. She turned to Yukina's peaceful face as she slept.
"Thank you, Maya-chan" Keiko said in gratitude. Hiei smorked, knowing this girl saved hisi sister. He stopped when she turned to him and smiled. Hiei turned away again, but he knew he wanted to thank her.
"Have you thought it over?" Kurama asked.
"What?" hiei asked, confused. Kurama grinned. hiei took a step back.
"No, please, anything but that!" Hiei said with fear. kurama's grin got wider.
"You should, she saved your sister, you must give her thanks" Kurama said. Hiei placed a disgusted look on his face.
"You'll pay for this kitsune!"
"I really want to thank you for this, Botan-chan" Maya said happily. They were both sitted in a couch in Kurama's house.
"Don't thank me, I didn't know how Hiei agreed to this" she said while thinking. Maya smiled. Then, Kurama's voice rang up the house.
"For cryin' out loud, come on!!!" Kurama said irritatedly. Kurama looked as if he was trying to pull something from his room.
"I'm gonna kill you for this kitsune!" Hiei's voice came afterwards. Botan looked at Maya, and then they listened again.
"Kill me after the date, baka!" Kurama said impatiently.
"Baka?!" Hiei asked angrily.
"Shut up, just get outta there!" Kurama said, making a final pull. Hiei came sliding down the floor. He was wearing a tux like Kurama's, though his was balck and Kurama's was somewhat a very light blue. Hiei glanced at his friend.
"This will be the last time, I'm going to do you any favors!" Hiei said angrily.
"Hiei-kun, you look so cute!" Botan said cheerfully as she looked at Hiei from head to toe.
"Shut up!" Hiei demanded angrily. Botan giggled and turned to Maya. "Okay, we're ready Maya-chan!"
"It's not so bad, right Hiei?" Kurama asked as he turned back, looking at the two. Maya has her arms around Hiei's, who smirking with every step he takes. He was very quiet since they got out of the house.
"Please? Just once Hiei" Botan pleaded. Hiei sighed and smirked.
"Just once" with that, Maya smiled and tucked Hiei tighter. Hiei flinched, but Maya didn't let go.
"Thanks again Hiei-kun for agreeing" Maya said happily. "Don't worry, this'll be the first and the last date I'll ask"
"Aren't they sweet?" Kurama said jokingly. He chuckled slightly as Botan giggled with him. Then they began to laugh.
"You look good in a tuxedo with a date Hiei" Botan teased. Hiei smirked, again.
"Hn, baka, you all disgust me!"
