The Shyest Girl

The shyest girl I had ever met.

The girl I called “weird” all this time.

The girl who knew what it felt to be rejected.

The who wanted to and did fall in love.. With me.

It was December 24th, 11:00p.m.
It was a cold night.
The sky was clear, the moon has a silver glow and the stars shone brightly.
The snow covered the ground, all you could see was a clump of tall, withered grass.
The water didn’t turn to ice yet. The mountains reflection looked like a painting

All was quiet.

I spotted her on the bridge. It was Hyuga Hinata.

She looked happy yet sad. Her eyes white, no pupils to be found. Her pale white skin matched the moon’s glow.

Her short, dark purple hair almost matched the colour of the night sky. She was staring at a single leaf hanging on a branch on the tallest tree in the village, the only tree with a leaf still hanging on it.

I silently walked up to her. She didn’t notice me.

“Hi Hinata.” I greeted. She jumped, I guess she was a bit startled. She turned to see me.

“H-Hi Naruto-Kun.”She softly said. She looked down and started tapping her fingers.

It took me a while, but I figured out that Hinata tapped her fingers when she was nervous or excited.

“Why aren’t you home with your family?” I asked. I guess she could’ve asked me the same thing, except... I don’t have a family. “I wanted to see if the last leaf had fallen yet...” She softly answered.

“You know.. They say that.. If you catch the last leaf of the season.. And make a wish.. It will.. Come true..” I looked at her. She looked amazed, it was like she went of into her own world.

“Isn’t it pretty tonight? If only it would snow... Then everything would be.. Perfect...” She softly said.

I nodded. She stared at the leaf again. I stared checked my watch, it was 11:58p.m.

One more minute until midnight II nodded. She stared at the leaf again. I stared checked my watch, it was 11:58p.m. One more minute until midnight I thought to myself.

“Well.. I’ll guess I’ll be going.. Good night Hinata.” I said. “Night Naruto-Kun.” She said back to me. I turned around to make my way back home, I didn’t even take half a step when a soft breeze blow. I herd a snap. The last leaf was falling. I reached out to grab it.

I caught it, but someone else had caught it also. I turned my head to fina Hinata looking at me.

She was blushing

We didn’t let go of the leaf. “Well.. What happens..? Ha ha do we both make a wish..?” Hinata asked.

“To tell the truth.. I’m not sure.”
I laughed, Hinata laughed too.
She closed her eyes and blushed even more.
I decided to make a wish, just for the fun of it.

Suddenly I felt my self getting closer to Hinata.
I closed my eyes I felt something on my lips.

I was kissing Hinata.
When I opened my eyes, Hinata was leaning on my chest, smiling.
We were still holding the leaf.
I felt myself blush.

“Hinata...” I started to say.

The shy girl I knew, Didn’t seem so shy anymore.
The girl I called “odd”, didn’t seem so “odd” anymore.
The girl who was always rejected, wasn’t.
The girl who fell in love with me, was the girl I had fallen in love with.

“You know what?” I continued.
“What..?” Hinata softly said.
“Now.. It’s perfect..”

And she agreed with me.
