Ancestors From Yorkshire
In researching the family history many interesting facts have been uncovered. Once it was thought that the family ancestors came only from the East Riding of Yorkshire. This has been proved incorrect. Through the different surnames that have been encounter it has been surprising to learn that the family has spanned not just the North of England but also taken us into the South of the country.

At one point it was assumed that the main employment for the male generations had been in the local shipping industry, again this is incorrect. Many ancestors lived off the land whilst others had their own occupations. One female was employed as a Nursery Nurse for a promanant, wealthy family in York.
