Wow!!! I sort of predicted it by saying they deserved it on my mouse script I've had on this site for a long time ever since the Oscar nominations were announced! I couldn't have been any happier though to watch my most favorite movie of all time 'The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King' walk away with 11 Oscars! I knew it deserved all 11 of them but was still shocked that the Academy felt the same way and rewarded the masterpiece properly!! It may have tied the record for most wins along with 'Titanic' and 'Ben-Hur' but they didn't win all of those it was up for so 'Return Of The King' set the record for the largest clean sweep!!! I'm so glad that all the hard work the cast and crew put into this huge achievement in filmaking paid off and gave them a reason to celebrate at their last event together!! It's a storybook ending to a wonderful book dreamed by Tolkien and envisioned then created on film by Peter Jackson! Next up it's going to be a re-make of 'King Kong' for PJackson and his faithful crew and rumour has it that he's asked Elijah and Andy Serkis(who played Gollum/Smeagol in LOTR) to be a part of it in some way so we'll just have to wait and see what happens...
Here's a picture of Elijah and Dominic Monaghan on this year's red carpet looking absolutely dashing as always!

First of all I'd like to send a huge HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY to the young actor I try to honour respectfully with this fansite! Bonne Fete Elijah!!
Second I just had a wonderful Elijah/LOTR filled weekend since first the SNL Dec. 2003 show which Elijah hosted so marvelously was re-aired on Saturday night, then I watched his movie 'Paradise' at my grandparents place while spending a lazy Sunday looking after my grandpa who's suffering from the symptoms of the Parkinson's disease. Then it was time for the Golden Globe awards later on Sunday night where Elijah was the first celeb interviewed on the Access Hollywood red carpet special that took place before the awards show started! Then 'LOTR-The Return Of The King' totally kicked ass and won 100% of the awards it was up for! It won Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Director, and Best Picture! It's about time!!! The best part was seeing Elijah's reactions to the wins, plus seeing him present with such pride the film clips for 'ROTK' as it's Best Picture nominations presentation!!
Then I was so excited to find out the 2004 Academy Awards nominations on Tuesday that I stayed awake until 5:30am PST to hear the live announcements on CNN!! I then fell asleep with a huge smile on face after hearing that 'LOTR-The Return Of The King' was nominated in the same four major categories that it just won at the Golden Globes! It was nominated for the most Oscars out of all the films up for awards this year with a total of 11 nominations! They include:
Best Picture (other nominees are 'Lost in Translation', 'Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World', 'Mystic River', and ,'Seabiscuit')
Best Director (other nominees are Sophia Coppola, Clint Eastwood, Fernando Meirelles, and Peter Weir)

Best Makeup by Richard Taylor and Peter King (other nominees are 'Master and Commander:The Far Side Of The World',and 'Pirates Of The Carribean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl' )
Best Costume Design by Nigla Dickson and Richard Taylor (other nominees are 'Girl With A Pearl Earring', 'The Last Samurai', 'Master and Commander:The Far Side Of The World', and 'Seabiscuit')

Best Art Direction (other nominees are 'Girl With A Pearl Earring', 'The Last Samurai', 'Master and Commander:The Far Side Of The World', and 'Seabiscuit' )
Let's hope that the best Lord Of The Rings movie out of the wonderful trilogy finally gets the awards it so greatly deserves! To find out how it be sure to watch the 76th Academy Awards on Sunday, February 29th!!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE...
First of all, being that this is the 2nd anniversary of a tragic day in history I'd like to mention that my thoughts and prayers are with the families that lost innocent loved ones. Having come extremely close to losing a dear friend in the twin towers in NY I can't imagine what I would have done if they hadn't survived!
Secondly I'd like to apologize for not updating this site in a long time now but besides the fact from being busy with work, my computer got infected with some nasty virus towards the end of August and it's still not working like it was before! I also haven't been living at home here since I'm house-sitting at my dad's place until mid October and he doesn't have a computer so this is the first chance I've had to come online since I started staying there on Sept.1st! I'd love to update my site as often as possible but lately I haven't had a chance so sorry to those that have wanted updates on Elijah or Lord Of The Rings!!
NOW NEWS ABOUT SITE RELATED INFO...
I'd come across numerous magazine articles and pictures of Elijah and Lord Of The Rings and have cut them out to scan onto the computer so the next chance I get I'll scan them and post them on my magazine scans page on this site for you to enjoy!

Just a reminder to set your vcr's (or other tv recording devices) and watch the MTV Movie Awards that air on tv on Thursday, June 5th on the tv music channels; MTV or Much Music (check your local tv guide for listings) since Elijah was actually there! I'm not sure if he was a presenter or a winner(The Two Towers did have 5 nominations remember?!) so I can't wait to see which one or both he's there for! Here's an awesome pic of him with Demi Moore taken yesterday at the show to give you a little taste of how hot he looks! The picture proves how similar Demi and Jordana Brewster(Lij's co-star in The Faculty) look like each other don't you agree?!

Also keep your eyes out for special showings of LOTR movies playing at your local theatres! Last Saturday I went and saw The Fellowship of the Ring followed by The Two Towers at the theatre at my city's University campus who was showing the movies for two nights only! I couldn't believe they were only charging $6.75 CDN to see both of those movies since I pay about $10 to see just one movie these days! I thought it was definitely worth changing my work schedule to be able to go and spend 6 hours of bliss seeing my two favorite movies featuring my favorite actor! Please let me know if you hear of any other cities or countries that are playing both movies as a double feature so I can inform the fellow fans that visit this site!

The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers has official made over $900 million dollars to date making it the 5th highest grossing film of all time! The announcement was made by New Line Cinema's president Rolf Mittweg on April 24th. The Two Towers has made more money now than it's prequel The Fellowship Of The Ring which previously held the 5th spot. The two films now hold the 5th and 7th spots on the box-office champs list and together have grossed close to 1.8 billion dollars worldwide!!!

At the 75th Annual Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood, California, "Lord of The Rings": 'The Two Towers' took home 2 Oscars for these categories:
Best Visual Effects and Best Sound Editing.
I thought it deserved to have won all 6 categories it was nominated for including Best Picture...but that would only happen in a perfect world I guess!
