Adolph Hitler's Presentation PP

This is an image of Adolph Hitler's engraved presentation Walther PP. The pistol appears to either be gold plated with the gold wearing off of the high spots, or it has been inlaid in the engraving. Note the early 90 degree safety.

Adolph Hitler's rise to power came at a time when the people of Germany were most vulnerable to the promises and hopes of a great leader. The aftermath of world war one left Germany bitter and disorganized. There were many political parties and left and right wing groups in Germany at this time and the timing was right for a political takeover. Many people do not know this, but Adolph Hitler came to power legally. It's what he did to twist and turn, and in many cases, abolish the law that made him the terror of Europe for more than a decade.

For a detailed account of Germany during this time read, "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, A History of Nazi Germany" by William L. Shirer, 1959. Written by someone who was there and had many, many contacts in the Third Reich. This is perhaps the best history of the Third Reich available. ISBN0-671-72868-7 paperback.
