WELCOME!!
I just started building AN ACTOR COLLECTS online site/homepage. You are the to visit my site.
Thanks for stopping buy!!
I always admired the feat of hitting a small, white round object, traveling at speeds of 80 to 90 mph, coming at you from a distance of just 60 feet away, and on the other end a man, with a big stick smacking it 315 feet out of Yankee Stadium. Those were the days!!!
Its very basic. Cro-Magnon-ish...Shear strength and agility. Nothing else.
Not enhanced. Not juiced.
A Regular guy sport, A SPORT for the avereage joe. Of course, they were not your ORDINARY Joe's or Mickie's, Willie's, Gil's, Hank's. Oh, for Pete sake, it's ALL changed now, like everything else!! But not that much.
Sure the fences are closer, the ball is lighter, there's more teams with mediocre players. But the object is the same. One has to HIT THE BALL!!
That's why I started collecting the REAL old timers cards. The CLASSIC players from the GOLDEN ERA of baseball. The 1950 and 60's.... Their records are JUST getting broken NOW, 40 - 50 years later. To me that fact is a testament, a symbol to THEIR greatness. Thats why I collect them!! Unfortunely, some of the cards look their age and some dont. Thats life, huh!!.
In between acting jobs I wondered, what am I going to do with myself.
Sit in a bar on a stool or sit at home on my PC??? It didn't take TOO much time
to figure it out!! But,
Thats the way we work. A FREELANCE basis. And there's nothing free about it!!
Ah, the actors life!! we're ALWAYS looking for the next job.MY actorSyte
From time to time, I'd buy a pack of cards here and there, a guy on the street in NYC or a small town candy store when leaving a job..
I'd leave them sealed in the packages and put them in a box in my attic.
BUT
Over the years I've accumulated many items that, depending on your point of veiw, are either of VALUE or JUNK!!
Most of my collection is of the Topps TRADING card variety.
Back in the day, I remember going to Mr. MOE's, a corner newsstand, across from the Eltingville train station and buy a pack of cards for a dime, just 10 cents...and it wasn't for the gum!! Today they're 5 bucks a pack!
At the end of the school year in JUNE, my brother would throw his cards and MY cards up in the air and cause a small riot in the schoolyard...
Oh what a site to see 100 kids scampering around, knocking over teachers and school aides...
And of course I'd get punished for it: I got detention for it.
BUT I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!!.
Imagine we had those cards today. In MINT condition?:
cards like: rookie NOLAN RYAN, rookie TOM SEAVER, rookie TONY PEREZ, rookie CARLTON FISK, RON GUIDRY, joe namath, rookie WALTER PAYTON, oj,
VINTAGE: Ted Williams, Joe Dimaggio, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, YAZ, Catfish, Thurman, Lou Brock.
so we're trying to build it BACK up today...20 years later...
BUT back in the day we'd hope to get the FLAVOR OF THE DAY!!!, latest star of the week.
Be it a BASEBALL card:
Mickey Mantle*, Pete Rose*, Buddy Harrelson, Reggie Jackson*, Mark McGwire* or Todd Helton.
or FOOTBALL card:
Bob Greise, Fran Tarkenton, Terry Bradshaw*, Joe Montana*, Walter Payton, O.J. Simpson*, Marcus Allen*, Sam Huff, Dick Butkus, LT, Barry Sanders or Corey Dillon .
or BASKETBALL card:
Bill Russell, Lew Alcindor*, MICHAEL*, Shaq* or Vince Carter!!!
Now, look at the hobby is booming...Prices are skyrocketed to the moon!! People are asking way too much $100.00 for what?
But thats the market place!!
I AM TIRED...I've been robbed once TOO many times on EBAY and yahoo auction sites...HIDING like the TALIBAN, cowards, ripping people off.
Ebay
GO TO yahoo AUCTIONS INSTEAD:
YAHOO auctions

I WENT TO CHECK THEIR ADDRESS & FONE # which says San Jose, yet its listed on EBAY as Dover, DE...SOUNDS fishy too me!! STAY AWAY
HOWEVER, if EBAY and their CC card company PAYPAL aka [providian bank] are LOOKING OUT for their users, this crap, [PETTY LARCENY], should never happen...What does one do? Will PRESSING charges against them help?
It is the USPS job to prosecute for mail fraud.
The government is MEANT to protect the people. or is it ME??
Or in this PRO-BUSINESS attitude we have in 2005 - CORPORATION are allowed to steal from the people with no recourse?
If so, they the people have the right to revolt, take to the streets. BUT that will never happen in the USA, maybe Europe, which we saw in summer of 2005..PARIS IS BURNING again...
One of the worst EBAY experiences UP to now!!
BUT we still buy on line and DO we have LOTs of stuff!!! too much
Feel free to take a look, if you want to ask a question email us at
