Car was sold on December 7, 2001 to Amari from Brooklyn, NY for $27000. He was totally pleased with the vehicle and didn't find ANY surprises that I didn't include in the following post. He can verify this. This is a VERY detailed description of the car...
Beautiful & rare 1993.5 Supra Twin-Turbo HARDTOP (1 of 233 hardtops, VIN# JT2JA82L5P0001235), 6 speed manual transmission, NEVER modified in ANY way, factory rated 320 horsepower (although numerous dyno tests on factory Supras indicate 340-350 horsepower...the factory sometimes holds back on the horsepower rating for insurance reasons.) A cylinder compression test yielded the following results in each cylinder: Cylinder #1 = 170 PSI, #2 = 170, #3 = 167, #4 = 164, #5 = 170, #6 = 167. Car has 56,000 miles (lots of it highway driven back and forth from the Dakotas to North Carolina), bright Renaissance Red paint, black leather interior (interior is almost PERFECT!...no cigarette burns, rips, stains, etc and the seats are the best I have seen given the mileage thanks to frequent conditioning and the driver seat is new from a Toyota dealership about 20k miles ago - see pictures), every option (auto climate control, CD/tape/equalizer 7 speaker sound system w/ factory subwoofer, traction control, etc.), oil changed every 2500 miles at a Toyota or Porsche dealership, always garaged, NO shakes/vibrations on interstate or when braking (the fastest I've had it is 85 mph and it was smooth), clutch is tight/quiet/PERFECT, front tires have 1500 miles / rear have 4500 miles, brake pads & rotors were replaced 15,000 miles ago, have receipts/records on the car's history. After taking delivery of this Supra, I did the following maintanence using a factory repair manual's recommendations/procedures: Considering the mileage (close to 60k mile tune-up), I changed the spark plugs (gapped new plugs at stock .043...I kept the stock plugs which are in great shape and normal color...can get pics), the two ventilation hoses on the valve cover (they usually rip when you take them off to change the plugs), the fuel filter (Toyota), PCV valve (Toyota), hood prop grommet (stock one was torn a bit), and the air filter (Toyota). I also inspected the following and found ABSOLUTELY NO problems: Engine troble codes (none stored), EGR filter, EVAP canister operation, fuel cap/gasket, transmission fluid & differential fluid (clean & full), suspension to frame bolt's torque, brake fluid, clutch fluid, coolant (clean and no deposits), timing belt, engine oil just changed at 55,300 miles, and I also looked at all the exhaust and downpipe nuts/bolts to make sure they haven't been turned recently (just to double check that an aftermarket exhaust wasn't on the car in the past.)
ALSO I WILL ADD BRAND NEW "BPU" PARTS (ALMOST 500 RELIABLE HORSEPOWER!) AND INSTALL THEM FOR AN ADDITIONAL $825! THIS INCLUDES THE APEX-I N1 EXHAUST, STAINLESS STEEL DOWNPIPE, GREDDY BOOST CUT CONTROLLER (BCC), A WASTEGATE T-BLEEDER, AND SHIPPING...IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS PLEASE ALLOW AN EXTRA WEEK FOR ME TO HAVE THE PARTS SHIPPED & INSTALLED (OR I CAN SHIP THE PARTS STRAIGHT TO YOU!) I can also substitute other brands of parts for different prices (HKS, Blitz, etc.)
Hardtop Supras weigh about 65 pounds less than a Supra with a targa top and have a MUCH tighter chassis (less body flex through turns/launches, no squeaks/rattles/leaks, etc.) I got the car on Nov. 16 2001 strictly for resale because it was such a good deal so I am the 3rd owner (of only a couple days)...first owner had the car until 40,492 miles, second owner had until 55,000. CARFAX report here. The car is located in North Carolina. I can arrange a GREAT deal on insured shipping for the car (you pay)...North Carolina to California is about $900, to give an idea. If you are looking for a loan try Bank One (1-800-800-LOAN), www.PeopleFirst.com, BB&T Bank (1-910-755-2220 ask for Lisa and tell her Jeremy Blackwell referred you), or try contacting your local credit union or the bank you currently do business with. I have owned a couple of these cars (this one is by FAR the nicest) and in my opinion they are the BEST mix of luxury, daily driveability, and performance you will find! My first Supra had almost 500 crank horsepower/over 500 crank torque with only 4 easy bolt on parts (Downpipe, exhaust, wastegate bleeder, & BCC - less than $1000) and it was still as driveable as when it was stock. Considering I have had a powerful Supra in the past I have no desire to modify this car, as I already know what it is capable of. Also, I own a auto shop and will sale the person who buys this car any performance parts they want at wholesale price. Only blemishes on the body are small bubble around passenger rear side marker, couple minute rock chips on passenger front fender, small scratches on one spot behind driver's rear 1/4 window, and a couple minute "dimples" (i assume from door dings, but the paint is not scratched.); slight fading spot on steering wheel rim. I am asking $27,000...feel free to email me any other questions or your highest offer at Supra@ExtremeAutosports.com or call 910-540-7223. I will hold onto all offers and if the car doesn't sale after a month or two, I will consider lower offers. Yes I KNOW that this price is over book value, but I also know the market value on these cars (and how RARE a HARDTOP 6-speed that has never been modified w/ only 56k miles is to find.) This is out of many people's league, but the right buyer who has been looking for this rare car (and also knows the market value) will know this is a decent price. I am in NO rush to sale the car, so please remember that I am not going to jump on a cheap offer. I will not hold the car for anyone, unless I talk to your bank and they tell me that payment is on the way. I missed several potential sales on my last Supra because people who wanted me to hold the car because they were "definately" buying it backed out! Not trying to be mean, just fair to you AND me ;) I have another daily driver, so the Supra will be sitting in the garage waiting on you... Thanks everyone, Happy Holidays!
