"The fun thing about (this tour) is it's such an intimate show," Isaac said. "You really can get the audience involved. What it comes down to is really just a thank-you for the fans waiting around for three years."

~Reno Gazette-Journal, September 4, 2003

Monday, November 3, 2003

"This is a new chapter for us," he says. "It wasn't an easy process to find our way to where we are now. We're excited to do something different. Starting our own label and having a closer connection with our audience, it's something we haven't done before."

~Taylor, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Friday, September 12, 2003

Tuesday, November 4, 2003

"When we started writing, we thought to ourselves, 'What's the first thing we can do to reintroduce the fans and give other people a new look at what's happening with this band?' " says Taylor, 20. "It's a much different perspective on who we are. We think this is a great way to start off the whole process of getting back out there."

"Everytime you go away, you take a piece of me with you..."

~Every Time You Go Away, Hall and Oates

Thanks Shirl!

The Acoustic '03 Tour officially ends tonight. For all the lucky fans attending Carnegie Hall, have a FANTASTIC time! We wish we could be there, too. :)

"I think the audience will be pleasantly surprised with this new music," Isaac said. "This record is a bigger step than any other record has been."

~Reno Gazette Journal, September 4, 2003

Still, Taylor realizes that Hanson will forever be linked to MMMBop and the boy-band craze. All Hanson can do, he says, is move on.

"The only thing you can do to dispel false impressions is to implement the right impression," he says. "That's all we can do, continue being who we are and putting out records that we're proud of. You either get it or you don't."

~Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Friday, September 12, 2003

Listen to the band!

Weren't they good, they made me happy. I think I can make it alone.

~Listen to the Band, The Monkees

Sunday, November 9, 2003

"You make the best record you can make and the best representation of who you are and what you do right now," Taylor said. "You get out there and you always cross your fingers. Who knows what's going to happen? All you can really do is be true to who you are, be passionate about it, and hope that people can feel what you're feeling. And then you toss a coin and work your ass off."

~Reno Gazette Journal, September 4, 2003

Monday, November 10, 2003

"The acoustic tour is going to be so much fun. We can show people the music in a new way before the record comes out," Hanson, 17, says.

Q:We are here in the House of Blues, and so many unbelievable artists have taken this same stage, that you guys have played on tonight. Is there a vibe in the air when you think of Aretha Franklin, BB King, James Brown, they have all played here?

Taylor: On the tour this summer we played several House of Blues and every time you walk into one, you go, "WOW, there is kind of a vibe here!" It's a beautiful, beautiful theatre, and of course, the fans make the vibe much better.

~Chicago House of Blues, Much Music interview, October 4th, 2000

Well, Hanson are playing the House Of Blues in Chicago again. Whatever it is tonight, a concert or JUST a recording of the show - have a BLAST!

The thing about what we do is: you see the world, but so many times you're just working hard when you're there.

~Taylor, Designer Magazine, UK October 2003

Inspired by this photo and by what Taylor said, we decided to post another themed Tay-A-Day. It is showing Hanson as tourists, when they aren't working, when they are sightseeing.

Oh, by the way, this behind their backs is Cologne. Located on the Rhine River, this delightful city with Roman origins has the largest and most famous church in Germany. The stunning 13th-century Gothic cathedral (called the Dom) with dramatic twin spires is a must-see.

Thursday, November 13, 2003

Q: What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

Isaac: I think that's a really impossible question to answer. There's a lot of things to see.

Taylor: You go to Paris and you see Notre Dame and the river Seine. You go to the Louvre.

Zac: Yeah, the Louvre! (They argue about the pronunciation for a bit)

Taylor: The glass pyramid in the middle of the Louvre was pretty amazing.

Isaac: Pretty cool.

Zac: I wanna climb it, and then fall through the with a parachute (goes a bit barmy) Yeah! Yeah! Cool! (Responding to his brothers' disapproving looks) OK, I'll be quiet.

And London is just a great city. Seriously, there is so much to see here.

This ancient monument of huge stones solitarily standing on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England has captured imaginations for centuries. Theories about who built it have included the Druids, Greeks, Phoenicians, and Atlanteans. Speculation on the reason it was built range from human sacrifice to astronomy.

Investigations over the last 100 years have revealed that Stonehenge was built in several stages from 2800 - 1800 BC. It seems to have been designed to allow for observation of astronomical phenomena - summer and winter solstices, eclipses, and more.

When asked what they enjoyed most about their last visit here, Isaac fires off a quick response, "The people", he says.

"It was a very cool place, we enjoyed it very much. I don't particularly know what it was, just that it was great. I thought it was an interesting combination between the US and the UK. It's verycomfortable, a nice situation. And also the water - it's just gorgeous! I mean, the Sydney Harbour is just absolutely beautiful".

Located atop the Corcovado mountain at a height of 2330 feet, the statue the Christ the Redeemer is certainly one of the world's best-known and most-visited monuments. The outing begins in the Cosme Vehlo District, aboard a miniature train that runs through the steep Atlantic Rainforest up to the foot of the statue, which offers stunning glimpses of Rio from many different angles.

The Statue at the very top of the mountain, faced with a soapstone mosaic in the finest art nouveau style, is reached via a flight of steep steps. The view from this vantage point, with the surrounding Tijuca National Park spreading below and a circle of mountains marking the horizon at the very back of Guanabara Bay, is nothing short of breathtaking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME!!!

In honour of Isaac's birthday we prepared a little slide show about one of the passions of his life. We hope you enjoy it.

At 11:00 pm we reached the destination Rushmore but they had closed it over an hour before. It was time for action! Our tour manager went out to do the impossible, try and convince them to let us in. Several members of the crew got out to try to prod them a little more. Without much resistance they agreed to let us in (so we didn't have to break out the water guns after all). All four buses unloaded and we met the rangers on duty along with the few staff members that remained. They agreed not only to give us the grand tour but to turn the lights on Mount Rushmore. We walked down the long entryway toward the spot where we could observe the monument.

It was quite a sight to see, especially at 1:30 am with the entire park to ourselves.

Taylor: It was a house in the Hollywood Hills .

Isaac: You could actually see the Hollywood sign from the deck on the back of the house. And you could see Mann's Chinese Theater.

Taylor: We were looking down on it.

~Urban Tulsa Magazine, 1997

I am sure that all of you will join us to wish a very speedy and complete recovery to our Isaac.

Previewing its upcoming album "Underneath" (3CG Records), the evening shows the brothers working in the '70s, Laurel Canyon vibe, their soaring familial harmonies recalling Crosby, Stills and Nash (or in the case, Hanson, Hanson and Hanson). It's a style that suits them well. The unadorned arrangements put the focus squarely on the material.

~Variety, September 6, 2003

The new songs are anchored firmly in classic pop styles: "Penny and Me" recalls Paul Simon at his friskiest while "Hey" has the jangly soulfulness of early Elton John.

They've also each developed their own stage demeanor: Isaac, the sober, serious older brother; laid back, athletic Zac sounding in his solo moments like another drummer from a singing family, Dennis Wilson, and the flirty Taylor, whose androgynous good looks and yearning grainy high tenor make him the focus of the crowd's ardor.

More than just a pretty face, he (Taylor) has the vocal chops to pull off a more than credible cover of Lieber and Stoller's "Loving You."

Mature without being too staid, Hanson may have found away out of the teen ghetto by remaining true to its own tastes.

For the time being, Hanson will utilize 3CG only for their own recordings, but the brothers are planning to create a roster and release material by other artists in the future.

And that, fellow fans, is something to be thankful for!

Friday, November 28, 2003

There's been a lot of change in the industry," keyboardist/vocalist Taylor Hanson said. "For us to start our own record company was a fresh new way to approach what we were doing."

The label's name was pulled from the trio's 1998 odds and ends release, Three Car Garage: Independent Recordings 1995-1996. "We're just getting back to the bare bones," guitarist Isaac said.

Added Taylor, "This is what we do, we sit and play songs. It's kind of like bringing people into songwriting sessions."
