The Gladiatorial League

Welcome to my site where I post the results of my own division based RoboCode competition.

The Latest

29th September, 2002: New Melee Results. Added or Updated lots of robots. You can download the XML file for the Melee competition. This will enable you to generate your own html files using RoboLeague and see all the detailed results that I don't upload here.

The "Under the Hood" section below contains a behind the scenes look at some of the top robots in melee competition.

Latest Melee Results

29th September, 2002: Only the latest result ranking and the history for the latest season is uploaded. 34 Divisions. 30 seasons at 1 round per battle, followed by 10 seasons at 15 and then 4 at 50. Fermat is again the current King of Melee. It seems that Fermat needs a few seasons to settle into a winning mode. I am currently averaging one edition of the Gladiatorial League per month, so I estimate that the next one will be in ... about a month. Download the XML file here.

The top spot has previously been occupied by Rapture, TNT, Predator, PrairieWolf, Tron, Shadow, JollyNinja, Viper, SanboxLump, Fermat.

Please note that rankings based on this competition are, at best plus or minus about 3 places, as the composition of the leagues changes every season and promotion and demotion leads to some oscillation of places. However, it means that a good idea of the "Class" of each robot can be determined.

The RULES are here (and are most likely out of date except for rule #1)

The roboleague files have a date and time stamp at the bottom. Note that this is the time and date in Sydney, Australia.

You can send me an email if your robot is not in The Gladiatorial League, telling me it's name and package and how to find it at the RoboCode Repository. Do not attach the robot to the email.

Under the Hood

The authors of some of the top robots have generously written a web page describing the concepts behind their robots and how they work.
