I can completely understand what you are going through and yes there is hope. I am interested to know how long the two of you have been married. I think that would say a lot about the situation!
I do feel that it is safe to say that most men do relate better to their children becuase with them he doesnt face the same pressures as he does at work or at home with you. He can roll around on the floor with them and revert back to being age 6. I think that the best way to approach the problem would be to make him his favorite meal for dinner, get rid of the kids for a few hours and have some adult time to talk calmly about the issues at hand. I think he is more likely to hear you and respond in a positive way in a quiet setting with a calm reasonable wife approaching him as an equal. I do realize in saying that, I am implying that men behave as our equals, and I do this only to add humor to a stressful and often frustrating situation. The best of luck to you and your family.

I am writing to you to find out what I can do with my huband. He never does anything around the house unless I ask him to and even then I have to practicly hold his hand through it. He spends plenty of time with our two kids but I think thats because he can relate to them better than adults. Should I just accept him as this or is there hope?
