Welcome to my pages. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Religion in the Pierce Program in Religion at Oxford College of Emory University. I recently served as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar and Lecturer at the Center for Religious and Cross-cultural Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In 2004 I was named a Fulbright Senior Specialist candidate in American (U.S.) Studies with a specialization in Religion and am available for teaching or consulting in non-U.S. institutions by request to CIES; please go to the Fulbright/CIES link below for more information. My research interests include Asian religious traditions in America, religions in transition, religion's role in identity construction and issues of teaching pedagogy in the religion classroom.
