AN EFFECT ON PLAYERS WORLDWIDE"

5
Reasons Why The New Starship Ruling Is A Good One!
2000-01-12:
1)
When you read the rules and look at those cards, a non-diamond
card without a stackable icon can only be on table in one place
with one copy at a time. (Gameplay)
2) The cards in your hyperspace pile now can hang around for a
very long time, perhaps lasting there through battles on all three
planets. That's a bit too powerful for cards designed to have
a one-shot effect and go away. (Balance)
3) Even though it's tough on old players who have traded big time
to get 10 copies of Darth Maul's Starfighter, it's better for
new players who only need one or two for their deck. (New players)
4) Diversity is good for the game. (Pro-diversity)
5) Errata is bad for the game. (Anti-errata)
And to address some of your points:
I think that there is going to be major confusion amongst new
players as you try and explain that characters stack but starships
don't stack!
Stackable cards stack, and cards that aren't stackable don't stack.
That's what the rules say. These seven unique starships don't
have stackable icons, so they don't stack.
