Hey, I am starting to revamp the Fuuma/Subaru thing, and I actually kept one paragraph- heavily, heavily, revised. I am surprised. Very surprised, that anything so bad I could actually salvage, but then if I didn't I wouldn't have anything to write, because I am not so newbie anymore, and I have been corrupted by all the S/S fics out there. And I can see the hints for myself more properly now, to not just slash anyone just because they're my two favourite characters.

And then again, now I have just cut everything out, and completely changed the story. Better? Worse? I don't know. Very, very rough draft.

He opened his eyes. Light streamed in through the open window, casting a warm golden glow over the room. As it was with all mornings, his vision was a blur of golds and blues as he struggled to sit up in bed.

The first thing he saw clearly was the thing- sitting quietly by his bedside, watching him.

"Morning." He said, warily. He wasn't sure of what to say. What could one say, after all, to someone one barely knew?

He called it a thing because he didn't know what else to call it. Neither man nor woman, only human, the thing had been by his bedside since he first time he had woken up in this strange room. He didn't hate it, but he didn't like it either. It was just there, like the sun was in the sky at noon, or the wind blew golden leaves in autumn, and he had learned to be accustomed to it.

Getting out of the bed, he moved to the window and stood there for a long while, feeling the cool of the morning breeze fresh against sleep-numbed skin.

Then the thing spoke. "They'll be here soon."

He closed his eyes. There was no need for him to ask who they were. They were his captors and his keepers, and they came every day to check on him. Like the thing, he had learned to be used to their presence.
