You are Garrett. An orphan, fate smiled upon you when you crossed paths with a "Keeper", a devotee of the shadowy art of balance. The Keepers took you in, and have been training you in the various arts of thievery for what purpose, you really don't care. Tonight, the Keepers have deemed it appropriate to set you loose upon a small section of the city.  A large wall prevents the unsightly denizens of the slums from entering, so street patrols will be lax, and security ignorantly nil.  A perfect target for an amateur thief, if you can get in.  Though the Keepers will deal with that...

But for you, this will be more than a mere test. The Keepers are a few cards short of a full deck, and you don't plan on staying with them forever, so it will be imperative that you make some outside contacts before you are done. Unfortunately, as literary convention would have it, things take am unexpected turn for the worse, and then the real test begins...
