The American Eskimo(eskie for short)is a part of the Spitz family.Also called the Nordic or Northern breeds.
This breed was recognized by the United Kennel Club(ukc)in 1913.
There are three sizes of the American Eskimo dog,.

All three of these make a great addition to your family.
The enigmatic Eskie is a breed both rare and familiar,it has such undeniable appeal that it's cuteness has been described as it's major flaw.
Circus dog,Farm dog,watch dog,even draft dog,the original role of the Eskie is not clear.
At home the Eskie makes a wonderful watch dog,always sounding a bark to let you know someone approuches.It is protective of it's home and family.
In the 1920's these dazzling daredevils were a favorite circus attraction,performing tricks to music,in acts with clowns or ponies,wire walking,and even weaving in and out of moving wagon spokes and horses' hooves.
