Erwin Guillermo is one of the maximun exponents of the contemporany plastic in Central America, being his work intimately related to the historical and geographic conditions of the region, as much by his subjets as by his net tropical colors. He was born, lives and works in Guatemala City, studied in the National School of Plastic Arts of that city. He has exposed in and outside his native country, in places like: Germany, London, Taiwan, New York, San Antonio, Texas, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Brazil. Also has received prizes, awards and distinctions in the painting, poster and watercolor areas. In 1998 he published a CD-ROM that contains a compilation of his artistic work throughout 32 years, with more than 250 of his paintings and bibliographical material.
