Aardvark

(tune: Blue Danube Waltz)

It starts with an A
aardvark, aardvark
And ends with a K
aardvark, aardvark
Not easy to say
aardvark, aardvark
But try anyway
aardvark, aardvark
Eats ants every day
aardvark, aardvark
At work and at play
aardvark, aardvark
You spell it this way
with an A
a-r-d-v-a-r-k
Aardvark!

A Boy and a Girl

A boy and a girl in a little canoe
With the moon shining all around
And as they paddled their paddles,
You couldn't even hear a sound.
So they talked and they talked
'til the moon grew dim.
He said you'd better kiss me or get out and swim.
So whatcha gonna do
in a little canoe
with the moon shining all around?

(2nd time)
So whatcha gonna do in a little canoe with the moon shining all a', the girl paddling all a', the boy swimming all around.?
Oh yeah (kiss kiss), Oh yeah (kiss kiss)

A Peanut Sat on a RR track

A peanut sat on a railroad track
His heart was all a-flutter.
Along came the train, the 9:15.
Toot toot! Peanut butter!

Ain't it Great to be Crazy?

Chorus:
Boom boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish, the whole day through
Boom boom, ain't it great to be crazy?

Eli Eli, he sells socks
Fifty cents a pair,
and a dollar a box
The longer you wear them,
the shorter they get
You put 'em in the water
and they don't get wet!

A horse and a flee
and three blind mice
Sat on a curbstone
shooting dice.
The horse, he slipped
and he fell on the flee
Oops said the flee,
there's a horse on me!

Way down South
where bananas grow,
A flee stepped on
an elephant's toe.
The elephant cried,
with tears in his eyes
"Why don't you pick on
someone your size?"

Way up north
in the ice and snow,
There lives a penguin
whose name is Joe.
He got so tired
of black and white,
He wore pink slacks
to the dance last night!

Alalalalalalalealuia!

Alalalalalalalaeluia! Alalalalalaeluia! Hey!
Alalalalalalalealuia! Alalalalalaeeeeeee Lealuia!

Give a (smile) to the person next to you!
Give a (smile) to a person near you!
Give a (smile) to the person next to you!
Give a (smile) and say "Sing Along!"

Alice the Camel

Alice the Camel has (9,8,7, etc.) humps
Alice the Camel has 9 humps
Alice the Camel has 9 humps!
So go Alice go!
Boom boom boom

Alice the camel has no humps!
Alice the camel has no humps!
Alice the camel has no humps.
'Cuz Alice is a horse!

The Ants go Marching

The ants go marching one by one, hurrah hurrah!
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah hurrah!
The ants go marching on by one
The little on stops to
suck his thumb
And they all go marching down
to the ground
To get out of the rain, boom boom boom

two ... tie his shoe
three ... climb a tree
four ... shut the door
five ... do the hand jive
six ... pick up sticks
seven ... go to heaven
eight ... open the gate
nine ... check the time
ten ... do it again

A' ding dong

A' ding dong dong dong dong
A' ding dong dong dong dong
A' ding dong!

Leader: Laura there, she don't wear no socks.
Group: A 'ding dong!
Leader: I was there when she (chiseled) them off.
Group: A' ding dong!
Leader: She threw them on my bed!
Group: A' ding dong!
Leader: Now my teddy bear is dead!

**I was there when she (chiseled, sanded, torched, pulled, cut, sucked, bit, yanked, burned, sliced) them off.**

She threw them in the sky
Now the birds refuse to fly

She threw them into space
Wiped out the human race

She threw them in the shower
Now the shower needs Lysol power

She threw them on the bus
And killed all of us

She threw them in the chair
Now the chair needs intensive care

She threw them on her shirt
Now the boys refuse to flirt

She threw them in the tent
That tent just up and went

She threw them in the tree
Now the dogs refuse to pee

She threw them in the sewer
Now it smells like cow manure

She threw them on the fence
Haven't seen my neighbors since

She threw them on the wall
Now the bugs refuse to crawl

She threw them in the grass
Now the cars refuse to pass

She threw them in the fire
Now the flames rise higher and higher

She threw them in the sink
Now no one can get a drink

She threw them out the door
We can't sing this song no more.

Aggravation

Refrain:
Aggravation, Rehabilitation.
Aggravation, this is how you play.
First you take a garden hose,
then you shove it up your nose
Turn it on, then you're gone
Ah ah ah ah

First you take a bowling ball,
then you roll it down the hall.
Hit your dad, make him mad.
Ah ah ah ah

First you take a plastic bag,
then you put it on your head.
Go to bed, wake up dead
Ah ah ah ah

First you get your finger wet
Stick it in the outlet
Lights go off, you go on ...
Ah ah ah ah

First you take a French fry
then you stick it in your eye.
Then you find, you've gone blind.
Ah ah ah ah

Alligator

Chorus:
Alligator alligator
Can be your friend, can be your friend
Can be your friend too!

The alligator is my friend.
He can be yours too!
If only you would understand
that he has feelings too!

The alligator laughs and sings
He never plays the blues.
I'd rather wear him on my shirt
than wear him for my shoes.

The alligator ate my friend.
He could eat yours too.
If only you would understand
that he gets hungry too!

Alligator alligator.
He ate my friend
He ate my friend
He ate my friend too!

An Austrian (Yodeling Song)

Oh an Austrian went yodeling on a mountain top high
When along came an avalanche, interrupting his cry.
Ohhhhhhh!

Odaliakeekee odaliakuku!
Swish!
Odaliakeekee odaliakuku!
Swish!
Odaliakeekee odaliakuku!
Swish!
Odaliakeekee oh!

jersey cow ... (milk milk)
girl scout ... cookies sir?
pretty girl ... (kiss kiss)

Ay yi yi yi

Chorus:
Ay yi yi yi.
In China they never grow chili.
So sing me another verse that's worse than the first verse.
Make sure that it's foolish and silly.

(any limerick)
A canner exceedingly canny
One morning remarked to his granny
"If a canner can can and he thinks that he can then a canner can can a can, can't he?"

Banana Split (Cheer)

Bananas unite!
Bananas split!
Peel bananas, peel peel bananas!
Go bananas, go go bananas!
Peel it to the left.
Peel it to the right.
Peel it down the center and ...
Uh! Take a bite!

Baby Bumble Bee

I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee
Won't my mommy be so proud of me?
I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee.
Ouch! It stung me!

smushing up ... Ew! My hands are dirty!
licking up ... Ow! My tummy hurts!
barfing up ... Uh oh! The floor's dirty!
mopping up ... Oh no! The mop's dirty!
Wringing out ... Uh oh! The sink's clogged!
Plunging out ... Bye bye baby bumble bee!

Baby Duck (Round)

Oh wasn't it a bit of luck that I was born a baby duck?
With yellow socks (touch socks)
and yellow shoes, (touch shoes)
that I may go where ever I choose!
Quack quack quack quack quack!
Quack quack quack quack quack!
(flap arms)

Barges

Chorus:
Barges, I would like to go with you
I would like to said the ocean blue
Barges, have you treasures in your hold?
Do you fight with pirates brave and bold?

Out of my window, looking in the night,
I can see the barges' flickering light.
Starboard is green and the port is glowing red.
I can see them flickering far ahead.

Out of my window, looking in the night,
I can see the barges' flickering light.
Silently flows the river to the sea.
And the barges too go silently.

Out of my window, looking in the night,
I can see the barges flickering light.
Barges on the river you may roam.
On the waters always you're at home

How my heart longs to fly away with you
as you sail across the ocean blue
But I must stay beside my window clear
As I watch you sail away from here

Out of my window, looking in the night,
I will watch 'til they are out of sight
Carrying cargo far across the sea
And I wish that someday they'd take me

Beaver Song

I'm a beaver, you're a beaver
We are beavers all
And when we get together, we do the beaver call.

Chorus:
Neeneeneeneeneeneeneeneenee
Hey!
Neeneeneeneeneeneeneenee
Hey!

I'm a beaver, you're a beaver
She's a beaver too
And when we get together,
We do what beavers do!

Chorus

Black Socks

Black socks, they never get dirty
The longer you wear them,
The blacker they get
Sometimes, I think I should wash them
But something inside me says don't do it yet
Not yet, not yet, not yet!

Bedbugs

I woke up late this morning
And there upon my wall
The bedbugs and mosquitoes
Were having a game of ball
The score was 19-20
The 'squitos were ahead
The bedbugs hit a home run
And knocked me out of bed!

Chorus:
Singin'
Eenie-meenie-meenie
Minie-mo
Catch a bedbug-bedbug
By the toe
And if he hollers-hollers-hollers
Let him go
Singin'
Eenie-meenie-meenie
Minie-mo

Blowin' in the Wind
(Bob Dylan)

How many years can a mountain exist before it is washed to the sea?
Yes 'n how many years can some people exist before they're allowed to be free?
Yes'n how many times can a man turn his head, pretending he just doesn't see?

Chorus:
The answer, my friend, is blowin in wind.
The answer is blowin in the wind.

How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man?
Yes'n how many times must a white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes'n how many times must the cannon balls fly before they are forever banned.

How many times must a man look up before he can see the sky?
Yes'n how many ears must one man have before he can hear people cry?
Yes'n how many deaths will it take 'til he knows that too many people have died?

Boa Constrictor

I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
And I don't like it very much.

Oh no, oh no
He's swallowed my toe, he's swallowed my toe.
Oh gee, oh gee.
He's up to my knee, he's up to my knee.
Oh my, oh my.
He's reached my thigh, he's reached my thigh.
Oh fiddle, oh fiddle.
He's reached my middle, he's reached my middle.
Oh heck, oh heck.
He's up to my neck, he's up to my neck.
Oh dread, oh dread.
He's swallowed my ... *gulp!*

Brownie Smile

I've got something in my pocket that belongs across my face.
I keep it very close to me in a most convenient place.
I'm sure you wouldn't guess it if you guessed a long long while.
So I'll take it out and put it on.
It's a great big brownie smile.

Bubble Gum

My mommy gave me a penny
She told me to buy confetti
But I didn't buy confetti
Instead, I bought bubble gum!

Buffalo Song

Across the windswept desert,
Where nature knows no man,
A buffalo saw his brother
A-lying in the sand
Said the buffalo to his brother
What makes you lie that way?
But the buffalo did not answer
He's been dead since way last May.
Since way last May!!!

Bunuah

Oh won't you come to me baby?
Oh won't you bring me my bail?
For a drink and a fight on a Saturday night,
They put me down in this Bunuah jail

Chorus:
Bunuah, Bunuah, Bunuaaaah!
Bunuah, Bunuah
Baby I don't know, uh!
baby I don't know.

I didn't mean to be fighting
And bringing you all of this shame
But the tongue of Jonathon Brighton
Was scandalizin' yo' name.

Chorus

This Bunuah jail is cold and damp
And the rats the cover the floor
(ricky-ticky now)
Ten and three will set me free
And I'll be yours forever more!

Chorus

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chorus:
Chocolate chip cookies
Ya gotta have more
You can bake 'em in the oven
Or buy 'em at the store
But whatever you do,
have 'em ready at the door
And I'll love ya 'til I die

They're made with water, sugar, and flour
You bake 'em in the oven about a quarter hour
But the thing that gives them their magic power
is the chocolate chips inside!

You can't eat one, can't eat two
Once you start chewing, there's nothing you can do
But clean the plate and eat the crumbs too
And then go out and buy some more

When I die, I don't wings
A golden halo or a harp that sings
Give me a book, a fire, and somebody who brings me
Chocolate chip cookies all day.

Clementine

In a cavern, in a canyon
Excavating for a mine
Lived a miner, forty-niner
And his daughter Clementine

Chorus:
Oh my darlin', oh my darling
Oh my darlin' Clementine
You are lost and gone forever
Dreadful sorry Clementine

Light she was and
Like a feather
and her shoes were number nine
Wearing boxes without soxes
Sandals were for Clementine

Chorus

Drove she ducklings
to the water
Every morning just at nine
Hit her foot against a splinter
Fell into the foaming brine

Chorus

Ruby lips above the water
Blowing bubbles mighty fine
But alas I am no swimmer
So I lost my Clementine

Chorus

Do your ears hang low?

Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie 'em in a knot?
Can you tie 'em in a bow?
Can you throw 'em over your shoulder like a continental soldier?
Do your ears hang low?

Do your ears hang high?
Do they reach up to the sky?
Are they curly when they're wet?
Are they fluffy when they're dry? Can you throw'em over your shoulder like a continental soldier? Do your ears hang high?

Flicker

The flicker of the campfire, the wind in the pines.
The stars in the heavens, the moon that shines.
A place where people gather, with friends of all kinds.
A place where man's troubles are all left behind.

So, give me the light of the campfire, warm and bright.
And give me some friends to sing with, I'll be here all night.
For love is for those who find it and I've found mine right here.
With you and the light of the campfire, and the songs we love to hear!

Da dum da dum da dum da dum ...

God Bless My Underwear

(tune - God Bless America)

Stand beside her and guide her
Through the rips and the holes and the tears
From the washer, to the dryer, to the clothesline high above.
God bless my underwear, my only pair.
God bless my underwear, my only pair.

We are the gopher girls
Because we go for guys
But they don't go for us
I wonder why?
(gopher noises and teeth)

Mutilated monkey meat
Chopped up baby parakeet
Swimmin' in a bowl of all-purpose porpoise puss
And I forgot my spoon
But I have a fork!

Gonk Gonk

Gonk gonk said the little Mr. Froggy
Gonk gonk said the lady froggy too

And he said goodbye!
And she said oh my!
Gonk gonk
(kiss kiss)
I'm comin' too!

Leatherwing Bat

(Adapt. & Arr. by Yarrow/Stookey)

"I" said the little leatherwing bat
"I'll tell to you the reason that
The reason that I fly by night
Is because I've lost my heart's delight."

(Refrain)
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum day
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum day
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum day
Hey le lee-lee lie-lee low

"I" said the blackbird sittin' on a chair
"Once I courted a lady, fair.
She proved fickle and turned her back
And ever since then I've dressed in black."

(Refrain)
"I" said the woodpecker sittin' on a fence
"Once I courted a handsome winch
She got scared and from me fled
And ever since then my head's been red."

(Refrain)

"I" said the little turtle dove
"I'll tell you how to win her love
Court her night and court her day
Never give her time to say o-neigh!"

(Refrain)

"I" said the bluejay and away he flew
"If I were a young man I'd have two
If one were faithless and chanced to go
I'd add the other string to my bow"

(Refrain)

Hey le lee-lee lie-lee low

Linger

Hm mm I wanna linger
Hm mm a little longer
Hm mm a little longer here with you, with you

Hm mm it's such a perfect night
Hm mm it doesn't seem quite right
Hm mm that it should be my last with you, with you

Hm mm and come September
Hm mm we'll all remember
Hm mm our camping days and friendships true, so true
Hm mm and as the years go by
Hm mm I'll think of you and sigh
Hm mm this is good night and not goodbye, goodnight!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Little Bunny Foo Foo
hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice and bopping 'em on the head.
Down came the goooood fairy and she said,
"Little Bunny Foo Foo, I don't wanna see you scooping up the field mice and bopping 'em on the head.
I'll give you three chances and if you don't behave, I'll turn you into a goon!"

The next day ...

Little Birdie Song

Way up in the sky
the little birds fly
While down in their nests
the little birds rest
With a wing on the left
and a wing on the right
The little birds sleep
all through the night
Shhhh. They're sleeping!
The bright sun comes up
The dew falls away
Good morning good morning
the little birds say!

Little Black Things
(tune - Clementine)

refrain:
Little black things, little black things
Crawling up and down my arm
If I wait 'til they have babies,
I can start a black things farm.

Haven't had a bath in two years
And I never change my clothes.
But I have these little black things,
Where they come from,
Heaven knows!

Once a cute boy tried to kiss me
But he ran and gave a yell.
I ran after him to ask him
Was it the black things
Or the smell?

Little Cabin in the Woods

Little cabin in the woods
Little man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hopping by
Knocking at his door
"Help me help me help me!" he cried
'fore the hunter shoots me dead
Come little rabbit come inside
Safely to abide.

(Jazzy version)

Dananana little cabin in the deep deep woods
Dananana little hermit by the window stood
Dananana saw a hare come hoppin' by
A' knockin' at his door
"Like help! Like help! Like help!" he cried
Before the hunter exterminates me
Come little rabbit come inside
Safely to abide!

Little Piece of Tin

I'm a little piece of tin
Nobody knows what shape I'm in
Got four wheels and a running board
I'm not a Chevy and I'm not a Ford

(refrain)
Honk honk
Rattle rattle rattle
Crash!
Beep beep!
Honk honk
Rattle rattle rattle
Crash!
Beep beep!
Honk honk

I'm a little strip-ed skunk
Sleeping under someone's bunk
Nobody wants to sleep with me
'Cuz I'm as stinky as can be

(refrain)

Pepsi cola went to town
Coca cola shot him down
Dr. Pepper fixed him up
Now, I'm drinkin' 7-up!

(refrain)

Little Red Wagon

You can't ride in my little red wagon
Front seat's broken and the axle's draggin'
Chug-a chug-a chug-a-chug-a chug-a

Next verse, same as the first
Just a little bit louder and a little bit worse

Little Skunk

Well I stuck my head in the little skunk's hole
And the little skunk said "well, bless my soul!"
Take it out, take it out, take it out, take it out
Remooooooooove it!

Well I didn't take it out and the little skunk said
"If you don't take it out, you'll wish you had!"
Take it out, take it out, take it out, take it out
Remoooooooooove it!

Ssssssssssss.
I remoooooooooooved it!
Too late!

The Littlest Worm

(repeating song)

The little worm
(echo)
I ever saw
(echo)
Was stuck inside
(echo)
My soda straw
(echo)
All: The littlest worm I ever saw, I ever saw, was stuck inside my soda staw-aw-aw-aw-aw!

He said to me ...
Don't take a sip ...
For if you do ...
I'll surely flip!
All: He said to me don't take a sip, don't take a sip, for if you do, I'll surely fli-i-i-i-ip!

I took a sip ...
And he went down ...
Right through my pipes ...
He must have drowned ...

I coughed him up ...
And he was dead ...
So I buried him ...
In my brother's bed ...

He was my pal ...
He was my friend ...
And now he's gone ...
And that's the end ...

The biggest worm ...
I ever saw ...
Was stuck inside ...
My matza ball ...

He said to me ...
Don't take a bite ...
For if you do ...
I'll die of fright ...

I took a bite ...
And he went down ...
Right through my stomach ...
He must have drowned ...

I barfed him up ...
And he was dead ...
So I buried him ...
In my sister's bed ...

He was my pal ...
He was my friend ...
But now he's gone ...
And that's the end ...

Long John (repeating)

Well, I'm a long john
And I'm a long time gone
I like the birds in the sky
With their long johns on

The Marvelous Toy

(Tom Paxton) Cherry Lane Music, Inc., ASCAP

When I was just a wee little lad, full of health and joy,
My father homeward came one night and gave to me a toy.
A wonder to behold it was with many colors bright
And the moment I laid eyes on it, it became my heart's delight.

(Refrain)
It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped,
"Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will.

The first time that I picked it up I had a big surprise
Cause right on the bottom were two big buttons
That looked like big green eyes
I first pushed one and then the other, then I twisted it's lid
And when I set it down again, here is what it did:

(Refrain)

It first marched left, and then marched right
And then marched under a chair
And when I looked where it had gone it wasn't even there
I started to cry, but my daddy laughed cause he knew that I would find,
When I turned around my marvelous toy would be chugging from behind.

(Refrain)

The years have gone by too quickly it seems, I have my own little boy
And yesterday I gave to him my marvelous little toy:
His eyes nearly popped right out of his head
And he gave a squeal of glee!
Neither one of us knows just what it is but he loves it just like me!

It still goes... (refrain)

Magic Penny

Love is something if you give it away, give it away, give it away.
Love is something if you give it away, you end up having more.

It's just like a magic penny.
Hold it tight and then you won't have any but lend it spend and you'll have so many, they'll roll all over the floor.

Make-Believe Town

(Yarrow/Mezzetti)

In Make-Believe Town,
In Make-Believe Town,
In Make-Believe Town,
Oh, yes,

In Make-Believe Town,
Oh, Make-Believe Town,
Oh, Make-Believe Town
Is a mess

It's a mess because all the animals walk,
It's a mess because they all draw with chalk,
It's a mess because all the hunting hounds...

(Chorus, faster tempo)
Go no more a-hunting, a-hunting, a-hunting
Go no more a-hunting,
but that's in animal Make-Believe Town.

Well the monkey who lives
In Make-Believe Town
He loves to drink saffron tea
He sits on the verandah
And talks to the panda
And then he jumps into the sea

He jumps into the sea because it is green
He jumps into the sea to visit the queen
He jumps into the sea because the hunting hounds...

(Chorus)

Well the elephant lives
In Make-Believe Town
And he is a wise old man
He studied in books
Where nobody looks
Because they're all covered with jam

He is wise because of his blue shirt of lace
He is wise because of his wrinkly face
He is wise because all the hunting hounds...

(Chorus)

Well the magician who lives
In Make-Believe Town
He can do any trick in the book
He makes little girls giggle
And tadpoles twiggle
And rides through the sky on his hook

He rides because the good fairy is there
And he rides because he has long purple hair
He rides because all the hunting hounds ...

(Chorus)

Well the children that live
In Make-Believe Town
They are good friends like you and me
They can go where they wish
And hide in a dish
And climb in the sassafras tree

They are friends because they all love one another
They are friends because they all sing to each other
They are friends because all the hunting hounds...

(Chorus)

Make New Friends (Round)

Make new friends but keep the old
One is silver and the other's gold

A circle is round, it has no end
That's how long I want to be your friend

I have a hand and you have another
Put them both together and we have each other

You hold me and I'll hold you
And together we will see it through

Friends like you are one of a kind
Very special but hard to find

Friends are real and friends are true
If you love them they will love you too

Across the miles, across the sea
Friends forever we will always be

So good friends, wherever you roam
You'll be welcome in heart and home

New made friends like new made wine
Grow and mature to the end of time

Cherish friendship in your breast
New is good but old is best

Make new friends but keep the old
Those are silver, these are gold

Me and My Dinosaur

refrain:
Me and my dinosaur, I never had such a friend before
As big as a house twenty times and a half
And fifty times taller than any giraffe
Legs long as sequoia trees
Teeth big as piano keys
No two people are buddies more
Than me and my dinosaur

One day it was cloudy and grey
And I wanted someone to come out and play
I heard a knock knock and I opened the door
And there stood the loveliest big dinosaur!

(refrain)

We hop-scotched to Africa quick as a breeze
While leap-frogging over the coconut trees
And when we got thirsty mile after mile
In one great big gulp we just drank up the Nile

(refrain)

Mm ah!

"Mm ah!" went the little green frog one day
"Mm ah!" went the little green frog
"Mm ah!" went the little green frog one day
And his eyes went "mm ah!" too.
Honk honk went the big Mack truck one day
Squish squash went the little green frog.
And his eyes didn't go "mm ah!" anymore
'Cuz he got licked up by a dog.
Arf arf!

My Reindeer Flies Sideways

(tune: Pomp and Circumstance)

My reindeer flies sideways
She's better than yours
My reindeer can cha-cha
She can open a door.
My reindeer is purple
Yours is a pea green
My reindeer's a girl scout
She can dig a latrine

My reindeer is married
To a boy scout
They're having a baby
Don't let Santa find out

Mules

On mules we find
two legs behind
and two we find before
We stand behind
before we find
what the two behind be for
When we're behind
the two behind
We find what these be for
So stand before
the two behind
and behind the two before

Oh Gee

Oh gee, how happy I feel
I've got visions of an automobile
Don't have to worry where I get my next meal
'Cuz I'm eatin' chicken
and I don't have to steal
Everything is goin' my way
Every dog's got to have his own day
Well I got mine and I'm ready to say
Everything everything everything everything everything's goin' my way

Well my clothes are tailor-made
And my shoes are paten leather
All ya gotta do is stitch yourself together
Take a look at me and
lordy lordy lordy
Everything everything everything everything everything's goin' my way

Old Mother Leary

Late last night,
when we were all in bed,
Old Mother Leary left a lantern in the shed.
When the cow kicked it over,
She winked her eyes and said
"There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight!"

Fire fire fire!
Water water water!
Save my child! Save my child!
Jump lady jump!
Splat!

Oh Chester

Chester have you heard about Harry
Just got back from the army
I hear he knows how to wear a rose
Hip hip hooray for the army

Oh I wish I were a little bottle o' pop!
(tune - if you're happy and you know it)
Oh I wish I were a little bottle o' pop, bottle o' pop
Oh I wish I were a little bottle o' pop, bottle o' pop
I'd go down with a slurp and come up with a burp
Oh I wish I were a little bottle o' pop, bottle o' pop

On My Honor

Refrain:
On my honor I will try
There's a duty to be done
And I say "aye"
There's a reason here
for a reason above
My honor is to try
and my duty is to love.

People don't need to know my name
If I've done any harm then I'm to blame
If I've helped someone then I've helped me,
If I've opened up my eyes to see.

Refrain

I've tucked away a song or two
If you're feeling low there's one for you
If you need a friend then I will come
And there're many more where I come from.

Refrain

So, come with me where the fire burns bright
You can see much better by a candle's light
And you'll find more meaning in a campfire's glow
Than you'll ever learn in a year or so

Refrain

We've made a promise to always keep
And we pray "softly falls" before we sleep
We're Girl Scouts together and when we're gone
We'll still be a-tryin' and a-singin' this song.

Refrain

On Top of Spaghetti

On top of spaghetti
All covered with cheese
I lost my poor meatball
When somebody sneezed - Achoo!

It rolled off the table
And onto the floor
And then my poor meatball
Rolled out of the door

It rolled through the garden
And under a bush
And then my poor meatball
Was nothing but mush

The mush was as tasty
As tasty can be
And early last summer
It grew into a tree

The tree was all covered
With beautiful moss
And it grew lots of meatballs
And tomato sauce

So next time you're eating
Spaghetti with cheese
Hold on to your meatball
And don't ever sneeze - Achoo!

One Tin Soldier

Listen children to a story
That was written long ago
'Bout a kingdom on the mountain
And the valley folk below
On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath a stone
And the valley people swore
They'd have it for their very own

Chorus:
So go ahead and hate your neighbor
Go ahead and cheat a friend
You can do it in the name of heaven
You can justify it in the end
But there won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day
On the bloody morning after
One tin soldier rides away

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill
Asking for the buried treasure
Tons of gold for which they'd kill
Came an answer from the mountain
With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of the mountain
All the treasures buried there.

Refrain

Now the valley filled with anger
Mount your horse, draw your swords
And the killed the mountain people
So they earned their just reward
Stood beside the buried treasure
On the mountain dark and red
Turned the stone and looked beneath it
"Peace on earth" was all it said

Refrain

Percy the Pale-faced Polar Bear

Up in the land of ice and snow
Where the temperature drops to forty below
Who's the happiest one up there?
Percy the pale-faced polar bear!

He sleeps all day and then at night
He'll catch a few fish by the pale moonlight
Has no worries, has no cares
Percy the pale-faced polar bear!

Then one day a hunter came
Caught poor Percy by the snout
Put him in a great big cage
Percy howled and he growled
But he couldn't get out!

Now he's living in a zoo
The funny thing is he likes it too!
'Cuz he met his girlfriend there
And she loves ...
Percy the pale-faced polar bear!
Who?
Percy the pale-faced polar bear!

Princess Pat

The Princess Pat
Light infantry
She sailed across
The Bering Sea
She sailed across
The Channel too!
And took with her
The rick-a-dandoo!

Refrain:
The rick-a-dandoo
Now what is that?
It's something made
By the Princess Pat
It's red and gold
And purple too
That's why it's called
The rick-a-dandoo

Now Captain Jack
Had a mighty fine crew
They sailed across
The Channel too
But his ship sank
And yours will too
If you forget
The rick-a-dandoo

refrain

Now Superman
Had a mighty fine tan
And Supergirl
Her hair just wouldn't curl
But they sure flew!
And so will you
If you don't forget
The rick-a-dandoo!

refrain

Poor Birdies

It's gonna be a long summer
And what will the birdies do then,
the poor things?
They'll fly to the pool,
to keep themselves cool
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things!

It's gonna be a long fall
And what will the birdies do then, the poor things?
They'll fly to the south,
with a worm in their mouth
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things!

It's gonna be a long winter
And what will the birdies do then, the poor things?
They'll fly to the barn,
to keep themselves warm
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things!

It's gonna be a long spring
And what will the birdies do then,
the poor things?
They'll fly to the trees,
and sway in the breeze
And tuck their heads under their wings, the poor things!

Puff the Magic Dragon

refrain:
Puff the Magic Dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In a land called Honna Lee.

Little Jackie Paper
Loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and ceiling wax
And other fancy stuff

Refrain

Together they would travel
On a boat with a billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched
On Puff's gigantic tail

Nobel kings and princes
Would bow whene'er they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags When Puff roared out his name!

Refrain

A dragon lives forever
But not so with little boys
Painted wings and giant's rings
Make way for other toys

One grey night it happened
Jackie came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon
Sadly ceased his fearless roar

Refrain

His head was bent in sorrow
Green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play
Along the cherry lane

Without his lifelong friend
Puff could not be brave
So Puff that mighty dragon
Sadly slipped into his cave

Refrain (sadly)

Refrain (happily)

We're an army, just singing a song.

Young Indian brave
On the other side
of the rollling river
Stood a lovely Indian maid.
Little White Dove
Was her name
Such a lovely
Sight to see
But their tribes fought
With each other
So their love could never be

Chorus

He couldn't swim
The raging river
'Cuz the river
Was too wide
He couldn't reach
Little White Dove
Waiting on the other side
In the moonlight
He could see her
Blowing kisses
'Cross the way
Her little heart was
Beating faster
Waiting for her Indian brave

Chorus

Running Bear
Dove into the water
Little White Dove
Did the same
And they swam
Toward each other
Through the rolling waves they came
As their eyes met
And their lips touched
The rolling river pulled them down
Now they'll always
Be together
In their happy hunting ground

'Stead of going to heaven,
they all went too ...

(Three, two, one) little robber(s)
All dressed in black
Tryin' to get to heaven
in a pink Cadillac
But when the caddy broke
And down they all fell
'Stead of going to heaven,
they all went too ...

(Three, two, one) little Martian(s)
All dressed in green
Tryin' to get to heaven
in a washing machine
But when the washer broke
And down they all fell
'Stead of going to heaven,
they all went to ...

Don't get excited,
Don't lose your head
'Stead of going to heaven,
They all went to bed!

There's a Daisy on my Toe

(in a Southern accent)
There's a daisy on my toe
It is not real, it does not grow
It's just a tattoo of a flower
So I look good taking a shower
It's on the second toe
of my left foot
A stem and flower,
it has no root
('Cuz that wouldn't look good)
There's a daisy on my toe
My right foot loves
my left foot so.

There was a Hole

(The Green Grass)
There was a hole - echo
A pretty little hole - echo
The prettiest little hoe - echo
That you ever did see - echo
And the hole in the ground
and the hole in the ground
And the green grass grew
all around all around
And the green grass grew all around!

And in that hole - echo
There was a tree - echo
The prettiest little tree - echo
That you ever did see - echo
And the tree in the hole
and the hole in the ground
And the green grass grew
all around all around
And the green grass grew all around!

This Land is Your Land

(Woody Guthrie)

Chorus:
This land is your land,
this land is my land
From California
to the New York islands
From the redwood forests
to the gulfstream waters
This land is made for you and me!

Chorus descant:
This land is your land,
this land is mine
from Maine to Montana,
desert to the shore
We sing that this land is your land, this land is mine
And it's made for you and me

As I was walking
that ribbon of highway
I saw above me
that endless skyway
I saw below me
that golden valley
This land was made for you and me

I've roamed and rambled
and followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of
her diamond deserts
And all around me,
a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me

When the sun comes shining
and I was strolling
And the wheat fields waving
and the dust clouds rolling
As the fog was lifting,
a voice was chanting
This land was made for you and me

Well, I looked around the corner and what did I see?
A big fat man from Tennessee
Well, I'll be you five dollars, I can beat that man
To the front, to the back, to the side side side
To the front, to the back, to the side side side
I'm gonna raise my dress up above my knee
I'm gonna shake it shake it shake it
'til a quarter to three
I'm gonna bend my back, put a hump on my back
Do the camel walk, do the camel walk!

And throw it out the window

It's fleece was white as snow
And everywhere that Mary went
She threw it out the window!

Waltzing with Bears

I went to his room in the middle of the night
I crept to his side and I turned on the light
And to my surprise he was nowhere in sight
'Cause my Uncle Walter goes waltzing at night

Chorus:
He goes wa-wa--was waltzing
Waltzing with bears
Raggy bears, baggy bears, shaggy bears too
There's nothing on earth Uncle Walter won't do
So he can go waltzing, wa-wa-wa waltzing
Wa-wa-wa waltzing, go waltzing with bears!

We bought Uncle Walter a new coat to wear,
But when he came home it was covered with hair
And lately I've noticed several new tears
I'm sure Uncle Walter's been waltzing with bears

We told Uncle Walter that he should be good
And do all the things we said that he should
But I know he would rather be off in the woods
I'l afraid we'll lose Uncle Walter for good

We begged and we pleaded, oh please won't you stay
And managed to keep him home for a day
But the bears all barged in and they took him away
Now he's dancing with pandas and he won't understand us
And the bears all demand at least one dance a day

Watermelon (Round)

Watermelon watermelon
See it drip. See it drip.
Up and down my elbows.
Up and down my elbows.
Spit the pits. Spit the pits.
