Judge Karen Mills-Francis is bringing her passion for justice to daytime with her new court show, JUDGE KAREN. Judge Karen was born in Miami, Florida and graduated high school as the valedictorian of her class. She graduated law school in 1987 and went on to practice law in Florida for 13 years. In 2000, she ran for judgeship and won, becoming the second black woman in Miami-Dade County to serve on the bench. As a judge, Judge Karen supported child's advocacy programs and domestic violence prevention. In April 2008, she stepped down from the bench in Florida so she could work on JUDGE KAREN. Her new show is distributed by Sony Pictures Television. The show's bailiff is Christopher Gallo. Gallo is a New York City court officer with years of experience.

Ann and Arthur brought their upstairs neighbors to court, Linda and Burt, claming they started a fire in their upstairs apartment. Linda and Burt had an outrageous side story. Linda has been blind for decades, but she wasn't born that way.  Burt threw acid in her face in 1959! He served 14 years in prison. When he got out, he and Linda got married! While they were married, he cheated on her with another woman for five years. He also admits to having several other affairs. Somehow, these two are still married. Back to the story. Linda was cooking some bread in their home and sparked a fire. The fire caused heavy damage, which is why they were being sued. Since Linda admited to starting the blaze, she and her husband lost their case and were ordered to pay more than $3,000 to the plaintiffs.

NOISY NEIGHBOR DRAGGED INTO COURT
Joyce brought her former upstairs neighbor, Wilmer, to court for pain and suffering. She claimed he was too loud and it made her migraines even worse. She says she would hear him loudly having sex and blasting music from her apartment. She also claimed that Wilmer stomped a huge hole in her ceiling because he wears heavy boots. Joyce told Judge Karen that she called the police on Wilmer 21 times, but he never got any trouble. That was enough evidence for the judge. She dismissed the case.

SERIES PREMIERE - "MOTHER'S DAY PHONE MISHAP"
Andrea brought her baby's daddy, Hyman, to court over a broken cell phone. She said he busted it when they got together for mother's day. Andrea showed the judge her broken phone, which was damaged beyond repair. Then, Hyman brought his friend, Eugene, to court. He witnessed the whole thing. Judge Karen asked him some tough questions, which Eugene didn't like. He told Judge Karen she reminded him of his mother. She told him that she was a lawyer before becoming a judge. Eugene said, "all politicians and lawyers and liars." The audience gasped and Hyman shook his head. Judge Karen had Eugene escorted from the court. The broken phone and witness testimony was all Judge Karen needed. She ruled in favor of Andrea.
