We live in a culture that fears death.
But people die everyday, and one day, so shall we. It's unavoidable.
We build stone lined parks to house the remains of those who have
gone before us, and many find them fearful and sorrowful places.

In truth, I have found such places to be very peaceful. They carry a
weighted, unearthly silence that wants to tell a secret, but knows better.
There is great beauty to be found in holy places of rest, in the trees, the sky,
and the markers which humans place to denote the sleeping grounds of their
loved ones. Cemeteries are a sort of art gallery for the dead, and a library for
those who take the time to read about the past through others lives. I visit
cemeteries to see the care that the living have for their dead, to listen to the
tales that the stones want to tell me, and to face and be reminded of my eventual
fate. I hope that in walking among the deceased, I will understand and not fear
what will someday befall me.

large enough to accomodate such a space. I will have not only
pictures from Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland, but several
others as well- most of them being from the Chicago area.
