Nota: Los motores de los carros de especificación japonesa tienen una potencia mayor debido a que la gasolina que se vende en Japón es de 103 octanos y de bajo contenido de sulfuro. Gracias a esto los motores vienen con pistones de alta compresión y el tiempo (timing) más adelantado que los modelos de acá, sin sufrir detonaciones. Por ejemplo el S2000 de Honda trae una compresión de 11.0:1 en Puerto Rico y Estados Unidos pero en Japón la compresión del motor F20C DOHC VTEC del S2000 es 11.7:1, dándole 7 caballitos y 8 libras-pie extra.
Note: The engines in japanese-spec cars have a higher output because gasoline available in Japan is rated at 103 octane, and its lower in sulfur. Thanks to this, engines come from the factory with higher compression pistons and more aggressive timing than U.S.-spec cars, without suffering from detonation problems. For example, the U.S.-spec Honda S2000 has a compression ratio of 11.0:1, while the Japan-spec model's compression is 11.7:1, giving its F20C DOHC VTEC engine 7 extra horses and 8 extra lb-ft. of torque.
