Pro Career Highlights!

1990
Despite missing training camp and the preseason, he still finished fifth in the NFC with 937 rushing yards, tops among rookies...In addition, his 11 rushing touchdowns led NFL rookies.

1991
First time leading the NFL in rushing with 1,563 yards...First Cowboy to ever lead the NFL in rushing...At 22 years and 7 months, he became the youngest player in league history to rush for over 1,500 yards in a season...Earned himself a starting spot in the Pro Bowl.

1992
Smith set a Dallas rushing record with 1,713 yards with 18 rushing touchdowns and 19 TDs overall...Was the first player since Walter Payton in 1984-85 with consecutive 1,500-yard seasons...Also had 59 receptions (tops in the NFC among running backs) for 335 yards...Smith's 2,048 yards from scrimmage led the NFC.

1993
Recipient of the NFL MVP Award...Also earned consensus All-Pro honors...Became only the fourth player to win three straight league rushing titles...Led the NFL in total yards from scrimmage with 1,900 (1,486 rushing/414 receiving) and had an amazing average of 5.3 yards per carry.

1994
He led the NFL with 22 touchdowns and tied for second in scoring with 132 points...Had 1,484 yards on 368 carries...Did not fumble once in the 449 times he touched the football on carries or catches...All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors as well.

1995
The 1995 season was a record-breaking year for Smith as he established an NFL mark for touchdowns in a season with 25...Smith led the NFL in rushing with 1,773 yards, the fourth time in five years he had captured the league's rushing crown...Also led the league in yards from scrimmage (2,148), rushing attempts (377) and scoring (150 points)...Earned consensus All-Pro honors and was a Pro Bowl selection.

1996
Despite battling numerous injuries he was able to rush for over 1,200 (1,204) yards for the sixth consecutive season...Tied for third in the NFL with 15 touchdowns.

1997
Another year of numerous injuries. But even though of his injuries in still was able to run for 1,074 yards, which is his seventh consecutive 1,000 or more, yard season. But only managed to get 4 touchdowns.

1998
Bouncing off a moderate season last year, Emmitt turned it up. He rushed for 1,332 yards, moving up from 11th place on the All-Time rushing chart to 5th, and also becoming the 5th runningback in history to run for 12,500+ yards. From last years 4 T.D. season to this years 13 T.D. season, makes Emmitt Smith the All-Time Rushing T.D. leader, surpassing Marcus Allen's 123 in 16 seasons. Emmitt now has 125 in 9 seasons. He played in the 1998 Probowl and scoring the NFC's only touchdown. Dallas went 8-0 in their divisional games, making them only team to ever do that in the NFC East.

1999
The only thing that would have capped off Emmitt's season would have been to win the Super Bowl. Running for more yards then the past three season's with 1,397, and placing him third on the All-Time Rushing list only behind Walter Payton and Barry Sanders. Emmitt scored 11 touchdowns, upping his rushing TD record total to 136. Emmitt also made the Pro Bowl for his 7th time in his 10 year career. The Cowboys did make it to the playoffs with an 8-8 record only to lose to the Vikings in the Wild Card round.

2000
With a disappointing season and numerous injuries to key players, the Super Bowl was out of the picture. Emmitt still ran hard though, and surpassed the 1,000 mark for the 10th straight time, where only Barry Sanders has done the same. As of right now Emmitt is 3rd on the All-Time rushing list, but only needs 104 yards next season to pass Barry Sanders and then chase Walter Payton for the record. With 9 TD’s this season Emmitt boosts the All-Time rushing touchdown record to 145. The Boys failed to make the playoffs and finished with their worst record since 1989.

2001
The Cowboys ended the 2001 season with a 5-11 mark, and failed to make the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Emmitt finished the season with 1,021-yards, making Emmitt the only running back in NFL history to rush for a 1,000+ yards for 11-consecutive seasons. During yet another record breaking year, Emmitt passed Barry Sanders for second place on the All-Time rushing list, he did this in the second game of the season against the San Diego Chargers. Emmitt is just 540-yards from passing Walter Payton for first place on the All-Time rushing list. Emmitt scored 3 rushing TD's upping his record to 148.

2002
For the third straight year the Cowboys finished with a 5-11 record. Emmitt only totaled 975 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns, but only carried the ball 254 times, only having his rookie season with fewer carries. Emmitt passed Walter Payton’s All-Time rushing mark in the eighth game of the season against Seattle. His All-Time rushing touchdown total was upped to 153. Also Emmitt holds the All-Time record in carries. Dave Campo was fired as head coach and Bill Parcells has taken over, Emmitt's future is undecided.
