Several years after the end of the Second Cybertronian War, there seemed to be a great need for the reconstruction of the planet and it's surface. So, soon after Cybertron passed through the uninhabited series of mineral-intensive worlds, the creation of a new type of robot was started. These robots, were designated for construction work on the massive war-torn landscape.

Approximately 100 of these special robots were made for the express purpose of using these new materials from the planets and rejuvenating Cybertron. The foreman for these robots was the liason between them and thier creators, the Inner Circle, a group of ex-Decepticon scientists who after the second war had agreed according to the "Armistice" to help the planet maintain its growth by helping to develop these new materials that were being brought in from the mineral planets. The scientists took a liking to their creations. In fact, some of the Inner Circle had a almost paternal feeling towards the Cyber-Engineers, as they become known as.

Unknown to the Cyber-Engineers, --(Straxus if 2k5 or Megatron if TLY)--, who in order to return the Decepticons and Transformers in general to his cause of conquest, had manipulated several key members of the Inner Circle to sabotage the mining and re-construction operation. The Inner Circle scientists, for the most part agreed, only one, named Spectrum refused to turn the operation into the start of a new war.

Eventually the secret agenda went into effect: the Inner Circle had secretly programmed a redundant program into the Cyber-Engineers to make them become extremely violent upon their return from a project on one of the planets they were then harvesting. As planned just as the Cyber-Engineers returned and many Cybertronians working at the spaceport went to greet, unload and help the Cyber-Engineers, the construction robots attacked.

In the ensuing battle the spaceport was destroyed. Of course the Transformers at the spaceport were not ready for a platoon of heavily armed and a superior, physically-stronger force. After the destruction of the spaceport the Cyber-Engineers, as per their program, left for the capital city, to the Council-Room of the Elders!

By this time the Transformers, mainly former Autobots, were ready and stood firm. Even though a incredible battle was fought, the Cyber-Engineers were not a much for a trained military group of defenders, one of which was a young robot named Orion Pax.

Of the number of destroyed, all of the Cyber-Engineers were totally obliterated. Or almost all. Dr. Spectrum upon learning of the destruction of the Cyber-Engineers, hurried to the battle scene. For among the dead was one #EMG117, a later model Cyber-Engineer. This robot was personally created by Spectrum, who over the years had grown to be like a father to the Cyber-Engineers. So he built #EMG117 to be his "son".

Many of the Transformers who defeated the Cyber-Engineers, never talked about the battle. In the records of Cybertron it is briefly mentioned. And it is only cited as a malfunction of several special construction "drones". The Cyber-Engineers were forgotten because of the effect their attack had on the populace. Even though --(Straxus if 2k5 or Megatron if TLY)-- sought to resume the war, it had a different effect. It made the Cybertronians bitter, almost cynical towards progress, change and outsiders. In a sense they lost their faith. Years later because of scenarios like this , Megatron found easy pickings to gain support for his war.

Meanwhile Dr. Spectrum decided that he had to save #EMG117, but he also knew that any Cyber-Engineer found would be immediately destroyed. So Spectrum created a new form for #EMG117 to inhabit. Spectrum also explained to #EMG117 that things would have to change. Spectrum said "You must become the FOUNDATION of a new generation of Cybertronian!" #EMG117 being a rather newborn in Transformer terms then made a decision to never let anything like what happened to him ever happen again, a decision that would effect the rest of his existence.

Just as Spectrum and #EMG117 were discussing the future, the Inner Circle and their commandos broke into Spectrum's lab. Spectrum took #EMG117 to the rear exit and told him no matter what always fight for the right and don't make the mistakes that he had, namely joining the Decepticons. "Trust yourself, he is the only person you really know!" As #EMG117 left the lab of Dr. Spectrum , he suddenly realized that he would never see him again. Because the last thing he saw was the labortory explode in a titanic wave of nuclear energy.

#EMG117 was alone. And for the first time he had to make the important decisions by himself. He knew that only with the Autobots could he ever hope to destroy the Decepticons. He would never forget what he had done because of the Decepticons. He would never forget Spectrum, his "father". In order to remember him and his words, he decided that he could no longer go by a serial number designation that only barely sentient Transformers go by. He would forever be known as FOUNDATION!

He would never forget Spectrum. Nor ever forgive the Decepticons.owards the Cyber-En€€
