THEATRESPORTS TORONTO

Alright, Sports fans! Elise is back on stage. She will be playing first half in this classic improv comedy show this Sunday night, November 4th. Come check out the new digs at the Poor Alex Theatre -- Brunswick Street in Toronto Tickets are $8 at the door.

And mark your calendars -- Elise will be hosting the student show at the Village Playhouse on November 23rd.

REBELLION IN THE AIR

Labour Day has come and gone and with it, the unofficial end of summer. Elise's crowd-pleasing tour with Mad Science wrapped up Septeber 3rd at the Kid's Science Building at the Canadian National Exhibition, playing to capacity audiences.

Now Ms. Cormode trades in her lab coat for petticoats to portray Hannah Matthews, wife of reformer Peter Matthews, in "Spirit Walk," a play about the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837. The piece is being presented in authetic settings at the Pickering Museum Village beginning September 12th.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

This summer Elise is travelling with Mad Science Productions, performing in "Taking the World by Storm" She plays "Prof. Pruvitt" in this children's show designed to introduce weather concepts -- and fight evil aliens! It's a high octane production that keeps audiences on the edge of thier seats.

Look for "Taking the World by Storm" at the Bangor State Fair, the Erie County Fair -- America's Fair, and at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto.

FIVE BY TWO-FIFTY

Newspapers This Sunday night -- Sunday, June 3, 2001 -- Elise's Second City Class will be performing at the Tim Sims Playhouse.

The show starts at 7pm and is FREE. So come on out for a fun and loose night of improv comedy.

The Tim Sims Playhouse is located up stairs at the Second City theatre, 56 Blue Jays Way, Toronto. That's right across the street from Wayne Gretzky's restaurant, west of Spadina Avenue and south of King Street.

THEATRESPORTS TORONTO IS MOVING

Newspapers As of February, TheatreSports Toronto will be moving to Thursday nights at HarbourFront. Come join the fun with Elise and her "Burning Twinkies" teammates: Linda Marie, Tony Nunna, and Mike Renieri.

Newspapers Elise has now completed principle photography on "The Shrew in the Park," a film which follows a group of community theatre players as they put together an outdoor production of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew". Slated for release late next summer, "Shrew" is being produced by Sparrow Lake Pictures and directed by Andrew Honor.
Elise played the lead role of Katharina opposite Glen McDonald's Petruchio.

Newspapers The upcoming romantic short "Girl Drama" will feature Elise as the elusive Girl-Next-Door. Production is slated to begin in December 2000.

THE RETURN OF IAMBIC PENTAMETER

Newspapers Elise is pleased to announce that she has accepted the role of Katherine in Sparrow Lake's upcoming film production of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" to be shot in Toronto later this fall.

ADOPT AN EXIT

Newspapers Elise will be performing in a reading of the new play "Adopt An Exit" by Sheena Wilson during the annual New Ideas Festival at Alumnae Theatre. The performance will be Saturday, March 25th at Noon at the Alumnae Theatre studio space, 70 Berekely Street, in Toronto.

Elise places the cynical younger sister Cassandra.

Newspapers Elise is proud to announce that she and Brad Peyton have just recieved a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to produce a short film entitled "full." The script about male anorexia was written by Brad and will be produced by Elise. For more information about this project, please log onto the Green Sweater Films website.



Over Labour Day weekend, Elise appeared in the children's play, "Shrewd Todie and Lyzer the Miser," during the annual Ashkenaz Festival at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre's Ann Tindal Stage. The story by Isaac Bashevis Singer was adapted for the stage by Lisa Rothman.
